Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Wallace! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lamar Butler! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace swinging wildly here.
Butler falls off balance throwing a combination
and Wallace counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Wallace looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Butler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wallace is looking for a counter combo. Wallace lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Wallace. No joy for Butler on that attempt. Butler doesn't succeed with the takedown and Wallace counters with a one-two to the body. Butler gets tackled into the cage by Wallace. Wallace maintains the clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Wallace's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Butler tries to clinch up but Wallace circles away and keeps his distance. Wallace closes the distance and pushes Butler back into the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Butler jumps guard but Wallace stands there with Butler around his waist. Butler gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ryan Wallace has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lamar Butler. Butler tries to pull guard but Wallace forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Wallace's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wallace seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Butler tries to clinch but Wallace is having none of it. Wallace is looking for a counter combo. Wallace lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Wallace turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Butler shoots in looking for a takedown. Wallace tries to sprawl out of it but Butler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wallace manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Butler walks into a straight right hand from Wallace. No luck for Butler with that takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Ryan Wallace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wallace's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Wallace duly obliges. Wallace blocks a head kick by Butler.
Butler shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Butler has his takedown stuffed and Wallace counters with a series of strikes. Butler will be more careful next time no doubt. Butler has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Wallace. Butler is looking to clinch but Wallace is avoiding it.

Wallace goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Wallace is working the combinations to good effect here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace has closed the distance and engaged Butler in a clinch.
Wallace lands a nice uppercut.
Butler is rocked! Wallace pushes Butler against the cage. Wallace is working some dirty boxing. Wallace pushes off with a quick right hook! Butler goes down! Butler tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Wallace moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryan Wallace! Our winner, Ryan Wallace, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
