Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Remus Gabor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dale Mcann! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcann ducks under a wild hook from Gabor. Mcann bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Gabor misses with a straight right. Mcann lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Gabor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mcann moves away. Gabor displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mcann. Mcann slips under a jab. Mcann lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed right hand from Gabor misses the target. Gabor drives through with a takedown into Mcann's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Mcann is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Gabor dives into side control.
Mcann is trying to control Gabor's posture but Gabor avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gabor is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mcann has escaped the position, nice work there. Gabor tries for a kimura but Mcann is defending well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mcann can do anything to dispel that myth. Mcann is looking for a sweep. Gabor thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Gabor is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mcann is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. You can see the frustration on Mcann's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gabor trying to control the position but Mcann is working away. Gabor is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Mcann looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gabor gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Mcann is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gabor lets go of the hold and Mcann can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Remus Gabor!
