Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Danny Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aharon Sarkisyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles comes to the cage accompanied by Have Heart - Armed With A Mind. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danny Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aharon Sarkisyan!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarkisyan throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Charles shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sarkisyan is trying to defend but Charles finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Sarkisyan is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Charles sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sarkisyan defending well though.

Charles is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sarkisyan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Charles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Charles is thwarting Sarkisyan's attempts to control the position.

Sarkisyan is pressing down on Charles's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Charles looking to pass the guard.
Sarkisyan is wriggling around but Charles manages to pass to half guard.
Charles wants to control but Sarkisyan is keeping him busy.
Sarkisyan keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Charles wants to work for an arm triangle but Sarkisyan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sarkisyan is looking for a sweep. Charles is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Charles seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Sarkisyan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sarkisyan is trying to stand up here but Charles is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Charles throwing shots but Sarkisyan is blocking nicely.

Charles is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Charles wants to free his trapped foot but Sarkisyan is holding on for dear life with his legs.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Charles working Sarkisyan over with strikes.
Sarkisyan tries to kick Charles off but Charles keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Charles winds up and cracks Sarkisyan with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Charles is keen to just control but Sarkisyan is a slippery customer.
Sarkisyan wants to control but Charles is keeping busy.
Sarkisyan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sarkisyan.
Charles trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sarkisyan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Charles misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sarkisyan pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Charles blocks a head kick by Sarkisyan.
Charles shoots in looking for a takedown. Sarkisyan tries to sprawl out of it but Charles keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sarkisyan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Charles throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sarkisyan's waist but Sarkisyan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Charles off to one side.
Aharon Sarkisyan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sarkisyan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Charles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Charles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Charles has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sarkisyan.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Danny Charles will probably get the nod.

Sarkisyan cracks Charles with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Sarkisyan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Charles looks for a takedown but Sarkisyan sprawls well.
Sarkisyan throws a looping overhand right but Charles ducks down to avoid it.
Charles has a takedown stuffed.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sarkisyan! But no joy.
Sarkisyan swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Charles gets the takedown into side control.
Charles looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Sarkisyan is avoiding damage well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Charles wants to control but Sarkisyan is keeping him busy.
Charles postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Charles throwing strikes but Sarkisyan manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Sarkisyan working away.
Sarkisyan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Charles keeps working.
Sarkisyan controlling the position from side mount.
Charles can't do much from the bottom here.
Charles is trying to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sarkisyan controls the position.
Charles tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Danny Charles overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Charles struggling a bit here.
Sarkisyan wants to stand but Charles is controlling his arm.
Sarkisyan gets to mount! Charles was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Charles tries to hold on but Sarkisyan postures up.
Sarkisyan wants to stand but Charles is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

Charles is working to get back to half guard.
Sarkisyan sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Charles tries to reverse the position but Sarkisyan maintains control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sarkisyan is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Sarkisyan controlling his opponent.
Charles is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at LOD-Guts & Glory Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Charles is looking to get to half guard.
Sarkisyan wants to get back to his feet but Charles is holding on tight.
Sarkisyan prevents Charles from getting the reversal.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sarkisyan controlling the pace for now.
Sarkisyan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Charles is looking to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aharon Sarkisyan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Sarkisyan thuds his right hand into Charles's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Charles tries to clinch up.
A bone on bone clash there as Charles blocks the leg kick.
Sarkisyan pivots, looking for a leg kick but Charles is out of range and Sarkisyan settles back down.
Sarkisyan misses with an attempted mid kick.
Charles takes one to the side of the head.


Charles is rocked!
Charles throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Oh Charles is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sarkisyan walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Charles drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Sarkisyan swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Charles's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aharon Sarkisyan!
