Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Tanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Tanner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nate Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanner wants to clinch.
Tanner shoots in looking for a takedown but Rogers manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tanner's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Rogers tries to counter by closing the distance.

Tanner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rogers napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Rogers sneaks out the side door and pushes Tanner away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Tanner misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Tanner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rogers circles away quickly and effectively.
Rogers shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tanner sprawls well. Tanner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rogers gets slowly back to his feet.
Rogers misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Rogers slaps away a takedown attempt from Tanner, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Tanner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tanner tries to bum rush Rogers with a series of wild strikes but Rogers uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Tanner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rogers but Rogers pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Rogers sneaks out the side door and pushes Tanner away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Rogers darts in looking for a takedown but Tanner gets double underhooks and turns Rogers into the cage.
Tanner looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tanner is breathing heavily.
Tanner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rogers but Rogers pushes him off and we're back to square one.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sloppy strikes from Tanner. Those never looked like landing.
Rogers lands a right hook to the body.
Tanner throws a body shot but no joy.
Rogers tries to counter by closing the distance.
Rogers shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tanner sprawls well. Tanner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rogers gets slowly back to his feet.

Rogers gets a clinch.
Rogers tries for a takedown. No joy.

Rogers gets control of Tanner's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rogers will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Rogers has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Tanner has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Tanner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tanner moves into the clinch successfully.
Tanner is looking to break free of the clinch but Rogers has double underhooks.
Tanner prevents Rogers from breaking the clinch.

Rogers pulls guard.
Rogers has Tanner pulled in close to control his posture.

Rogers scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Rogers shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tanner sprawls well. Tanner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rogers gets slowly back to his feet.

Tanner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to avoid it but Tanner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rogers to the ground. Rogers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rogers misses with a takedown attempt - Tanner sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Tanner darts in looking for a takedown but Rogers gets double underhooks and turns Tanner into the cage.
Rogers looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Rogers shoots in looking for a takedown. Tanner tries to sprawl out of it but Rogers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tanner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tanner displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rogers.
Rogers leaves Tanner with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nate Rogers dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Rogers shoots in but no luck this time.
Rogers fails with the takedown.
Tanner seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tanner looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tanner takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Rogers drives through and clinches with Tanner against the cage.
Tanner prevents a takedown attempt there.
George Tanner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Rogers.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rogers is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Tanner wants to sweep here but Rogers controlling him for the moment.
Tanner can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rogers controls the pace.

Rogers advances to half guard.
Nate Rogers has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tanner is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Rogers jumps into side control!

Rogers decides to stand back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tanner looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rogers is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Rogers lands with a nice combination. Tanner backs away looking to recover.
Nice sprawl there from Tanner as Rogers shoots in.
Tanner looks for a takedown but Rogers sprawls well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tanner gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rogers to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Rogers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tanner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rogers pulls Tanner in close to prevent any damage.

Nate Rogers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Tanner closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rogers did well to prevent Tanner getting side control.

Nate Rogers seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Tanner wants to clinch.
Rogers dives in and grabs Tanner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tanner pushes down on Rogers's head and hops out.

Tanner is looking for a counter combo.
Tanner throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Rogers defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tanner.
Tanner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Tanner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rogers's waist but Rogers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tanner off to one side.

Rogers forces Tanner back against the cage and clinches.
Tanner keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rogers's efforts to push away.

Tanner breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rogers shoots in looking for a takedown. Tanner tries to sprawl out of it but Rogers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tanner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tanner half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Rogers attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Tanner throws a leg kick but Rogers sees it coming and moves out of range.
And Rogers tries to counter it with a takedown but Tanner pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Rogers has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tanner on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Tanner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rogers clinches.

Rogers controlling the action here for a moment.

Rogers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rogers stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Tanner.
Tanner has a takedown stuffed.
Tanner wants to clinch.
Rogers fails with the takedown.
Tanner seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rogers keeps the fight on the outside.
Rogers tries to counter with a clinch but Tanner shakes him off and moves away.
Rogers misses with a head kick.

Rogers moves into range and clinches up with Tanner.
A nice right hand lands inside from Rogers.
Rogers is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Rogers pushes off an throws an elbow but Tanner leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Tanner has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rogers is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tanner tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rogers smiles and moves away.

Rogers has managed to clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nate Rogers comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rogers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
