Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Kalishevski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Scott Wallhead! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallhead keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wallhead looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Wallhead decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Wallhead is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kalishevski sees it coming and defends easily. Kalishevski regains full guard. Nicely done. Kalishevski looking for a sweep. Not yet Kalishevski, not yet. Wallhead prevents Kalishevski from getting back to his feet. Kalishevski is adopting a defensive guard. Kalishevski is looking to stand up but Wallhead isn't so interested in that idea. Kalishevski wants to sweep but no luck. Wallhead pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kalishevski is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallhead is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kalishevski is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kalishevski has escaped and now he's on top! Kalishevski has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Wallhead is proving hard to escape from. Kalishevski pushes down on Wallhead's leg and manages to get into half guard. Wallhead looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kalishevski wants to stand but Wallhead has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kalishevski looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Kalishevski tries to stand but can't do so whilst Wallhead controls his leg. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Wallhead gets back to full guard.

Kalishevski slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kalishevski tries to stand but Wallhead is controlling from the bottom. Wallhead has his foot on Kalishevski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kalishevski works his way back into a safe position though. Wallhead escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kalishevski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kalishevski wants to stand but Wallhead has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kalishevski stands up from Wallhead's guard - Kalishevski perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kalishevski throws a wild body kick that Wallhead sees coming a mile off. Kalishevski throws a nice head kick!
Wallhead takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Look low, kick high! Kalishevski uses the oldest trick in the book to send Wallhead tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Kalishevski is absolutely delighted - when Wallhead wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ivan Kalishevski!
