Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Musta Laine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laine comes to the cage accompanied by Disturbed - Sound of Silence. Nelson has chosen Don't Mean A Thing as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Roy Nelson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Musta Laine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roy Nelson! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Laine ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nelson moves away. Nelson dodges the punch combination from Laine.
Nelson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Nelson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Laine looks to land a right hand but Nelson moved out of range. Laine tries to clinch but Nelson is having none of it. Laine uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nelson. Laine throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nelson blocks a head kick by Laine.
Laine walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Nelson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Nelson jabbing away but nothing is landing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Laine misses with a hook. Nelson ducked under it nicely. Nice defenses there by Nelson. Laine misses with an uppercut. Laine is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Nelson.
It looks like Musta Laine has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Laine cracks Nelson with a right hand to the side of the head.
It looks like Roy Nelson has been cut. Nelson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nelson misses with a two punch combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nelson cracks a nice hook into Laine's ribs. Laine throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nelson scores with the left hand. Laine knows he should have avoided that one. An inside leg kick lands from Laine. Nelson moves into range and connects with a jab. Nelson lands a nice looking body shot.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Laine tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Nelson tries to break free but Laine pushes him back against the cage. A shot in the inside from Laine. Nelson is trying to break the clinch but Laine is controlling him. Nelson lands with a short shot to the head. A head punch on the inside from Laine fails to land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Laine tries a body shot but Nelson blocks it.
Laine lands a right hand that snaps the head of Nelson backwards. I was talking to Laine's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Nelson misses with a punch on the inside.
Nelson tries to break the clinch but Laine is controlling the position. Nelson lands a shoulder strike. Laine lands a left hand that snaps the head of Nelson backwards. Laine scores with an uppercut up the middle. Nelson blocking some punches.
Nelson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Laine blocking some punches.
Nelson is trying to break the clinch but Laine has him pressed against the cage. Laine tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Nelson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nelson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Donk. Nelson catches Laine right on the button with a cross. Nelson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Laine was well out of range. Poor timing from Nelson. Laine shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nelson defends it nicely. Laine dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Nelson. That did some damage! Nelson misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Laine cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Laine looks to land a right hand but Nelson moved out of range. Laine shoots in but no luck this time. Nice combo by Nelson! Oh, that's hurt him - Laine falls to the canvas and Nelson follows him into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Laine tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nelson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Laine keeps working. Nelson decides to stand back up. Nelson steps back and let's Laine get back to his feet. Roy Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nelson misses with a hook. Laine tried to counter with a leg kick but Nelson avoided it. Nelson throws a lazy right hand but Laine sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Nelson throws a jab but it's blocked by Laine. Nelson throws a right hand that misses
and Laine counters with a shoot takedown. Nelson fights it but they end up in guard. Laine trying to control the position from guard on top but Nelson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Laine engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Laine lands a couple of digs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Roy Nelson will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Laine's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Laine throws a jab but it's blocked by Nelson. Laine bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Laine uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nelson. Laine clinches with his opponent.
Nelson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nelson defending well as Laine loads up on a big left hand. Laine keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Laine connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Nelson looks to throw the jab but Laine is out of range. A little feinted left hand from Laine on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Laine throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Laine is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nelson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Nelson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Nelson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Laine. Nelson throws a hook to the side of Laine's head but Laine sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Laine looks to score with a jab to the body but Nelson is just out of range. Nelson feints a counter leg kick. Nelson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Roy Nelson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! No joy there for Nelson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round. A cross from Laine lands. Nelson misses with a straight right. Roy Nelson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nelson throws a shot from downtown. Laine moves away and avoids it. Nelson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. A lazy left from Laine finds it's target. Laine misses with a wild body shot. Nelson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Laine gets a takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nelson wants to get back to his feet. Laine working Nelson over with strikes. Nelson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Laine. Laine thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Nelson trying to hold on to Laine's head to control him but Laine postures up.
Laine has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson is staying active underneath Laine, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Laine controlling the action here. Laine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nelson keeps working. Laine missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Nelson trying to control here.
Nelson wants to get back to his feet. Laine is trying to control. Nelson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Nelson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Laine. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nelson trying to control but Laine postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laine is looking to take a break and control but Nelson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Laine tries to pass the half guard into mount. Nelson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Laine throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Nelson tries to roll over but Laine keeps him under control. Laine looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nelson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Laine thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nelson's head. Nelson pushes Laine off looking to stand but Laine dives back in and keeps control.
Laine looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Nelson wants to control but Laine is keeping busy and won't allow it. Nelson is doing well to control the position and prevent Laine from advancing to side control. Laine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nelson keeps working.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Laine lands a nice looking body shot.
Laine pushes Nelson up against the cage in a clinch. Laine lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Nelson breaks the clinch.
Laine defending well as Nelson loads up on a big left hand. Laine connects with an inside leg kick. Nelson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Laine walks into a left hand. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nelson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Laine. Nelson lands a nice hook to Laine's body. Laine takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Nelson fails to land with a series of punches.
Nelson lands a glancing blow to the side of Laine's head. Laine misses with a jab, cross combination.

Musta Laine dominated that second round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Nelson works Laine's body with a nice hook. Nelson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Laine feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Laine is looking to work some ground and pound but Nelson has wrist control. Nelson trying to control the position.
Laine sitting in guard, not really doing much. Laine throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Laine stands up over Nelson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Laine working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Nelson controls Laine momentarily but Laine frees himself. Nelson keeping moving, preventing Laine from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Laine's guard.
Laine is working an open guard so Nelson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Nelson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Laine. Nelson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Nelson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Laine throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Laine lands a jab to Nelson's midsection. Laine digs a good body shot into Nelson's ribs. Laine misses with a body shot.
Laine scores with a punch to the head. Nelson misses with a hook. Laine misses with a looping left. Nelson misses with a hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Laine lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Nelson at a distance.
Nelson throws a half hearted mid kick. Laine ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nelson moves away. Nelson unleashes a big counter combination but Laine bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Laine misses with a body shot.
Nelson lands with a hook. Laine tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Laine on the wrong end of a nice hook. Nelson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
A punch combination from Nelson misses. Laine feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Nelson's calf. Nelson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Laine comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Laine misses with a wild body shot. Laine scores with a spinning back kick! Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Laine. Nelson shrugs it off though. Nelson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson moves out of range of the body kick. Nelson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Laine connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Laine throws a sloppy body shot
and Nelson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Laine shoots in looking for a takedown but Nelson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Laine's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nelson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Laine throws a head kick that misses. A countering left hand to the body from Nelson misses. Laine takes a jab right on the kisser.
Laine connects with a high kick. Nelson fails to land with a series of punches.

Nelson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Laine doesn't seem bothered though. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Laine lands a nice hook to Nelson's body. Nelson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Nelson jabs at Laine's body. Laine throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Nelson counters with a straight right hand. Laine darts in and out, connecting with a jab. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Laine misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nelson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
And that's the end of the fight! Musta Laine showed his dominance in that final round. I think Laine has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
