Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thatcher Halverson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Hyperion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Thatcher Halverson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexander Hyperion! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hyperion keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Halverson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Hyperion throws a leg kick which misses Halverson's front leg but catches the back leg as Halverson tries to avoid it. Hyperion misses with a looping left. Hyperion tries to land a front kick but Halverson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Hyperion comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Halverson throws a body shot but no joy. Halverson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Hyperion lands a nice hook to Halverson's body. Halverson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Hyperion misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Halverson.
Hyperion tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Halverson was well out of range. Poor timing from Hyperion. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hyperion throws a lazy uppercut
and Halverson counters with a nice body shot. Hyperion uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Halverson. Hyperion takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Halverson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hyperion tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Halverson is in Hyperion's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Halverson is in close to Hyperion's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Halverson trying to control but Hyperion is working from the bottom. Hyperion is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Halverson defends well. Hyperion really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Halverson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Halverson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Hyperion seems keen to control Halverson's posture. Halverson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hyperion avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Halverson stands and throws Hyperion's legs to the side, diving into side control. Hyperion can't do much from the bottom here. Halverson is trying to get an arm triangle but Hyperion is defending well. Hyperion is trying to control Halverson's posture but Halverson avoids it. Hyperion is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Halverson's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Halverson! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Hyperion has tapped! This one is allllll over!
