Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Victor Ruiz!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Pudzianowski.
Ruiz has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pudzianowski.
Ruiz takes one on the button.
It looks like Victor Ruiz has been cut.
Ruiz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pudzianowski manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ruiz drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pudzianowski is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ruiz defends well.
Pudzianowski preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Ruiz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ruiz passes Pudzianowski's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Ruiz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pudzianowski has hold of Ruiz's hands but Ruiz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Ruiz stalling.
Pudzianowski moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Ruiz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Pudzianowski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ruiz on the ground.
Pudzianowski is trying to control the position but Ruiz postures up.
Ruiz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ruiz throwing strikes but missing.
Ruiz drops back looking for a leg! Pudzianowski is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pudzianowski manages to kick Ruiz off! Ruiz jumps back into Pudzianowski's guard.
Pudzianowski controls Ruiz momentarily but Ruiz frees himself.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Ruiz stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Ruiz walks into a straight right hand from Pudzianowski.
Pudzianowski throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Pudzianowski lands with a straight right. Ruiz didn't see that one coming.
A chopping leg kick lands by Pudzianowski.
Pudzianowski throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ruiz.
A slapping leg kick lands for Pudzianowski.
Pudzianowski circles away from the clinch attempt
and Pudzianowski counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Ruiz has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
