Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carmelo Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Giles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carmelo Willis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gary Giles! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Willis tries for a takedown but Giles sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Willis fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Giles swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Willis counters with a single leg into guard. Giles didn't expect that. Giles manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Willis dives in for a single leg takedown but Giles sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carmelo Willis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Giles scores with a kick to the body.
Willis sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Willis is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Giles instigates a clinch. Willis gets underhooks to prevent Giles's takedown attempt.

Willis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Giles shoots in and gets a takedown into Willis's guard. Giles's corner is telling him to maintain position. Giles content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Giles gets to his feet - Willis follows without any prompting. Giles dives in and scores a takedown into Willis's guard. Giles with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Giles is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Giles connects with a couple of short punches. Giles trying to control but Willis is working from the bottom. Giles gets to his feet - Willis follows without any prompting. Willis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Giles's waist but Giles gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Willis off to one side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Willis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Giles sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Willis somewhat. Giles feints and as Willis raises his hands in defense, Giles changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Giles is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Giles passes Willis's left leg - he's now in half guard. Giles lands strikes from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Giles gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Willis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Giles sprawls well initially but Willis persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Giles manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Willis keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Willis is pressed up against the cage. Giles has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Willis down to the mat. Willis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Giles throws a nice head kick!
Willis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Giles pinned against the cage. Giles gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Giles throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Willis's head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Willis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Willis takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Willis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Giles gets caught napping as Willis dives in and scores a takedown. Giles manages to retain guard. Giles is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gary Giles dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Willis fails with the takedown. Giles fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Willis, pushing him back against the cage. Willis is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Giles gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Willis wants to get back to striking at distance but Giles won't allow it.

Giles will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Willis up against the cage. Willis trying to control the position but instead, Giles has worked for underhooks and has pushed Willis into the cage. Giles has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Willis avoiding damage.

Giles prevents Willis from improving his position. Willis is trying to maintain the position but Giles is very close to passing his half guard. Willis is staying active underneath Giles, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Giles not doing much here.
Willis is looking for a sweep. Giles is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Giles seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Willis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Giles decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Willis closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Giles lands a nice leg kick that just misses Willis's sensitive parts. Willis goes for a double leg but Giles avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Giles continues to drive forward. Giles lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Giles. Giles fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Willis avoids it really well and circles away.

Giles would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Giles decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Giles darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Willis makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Willis. Giles is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gary Giles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Giles closes the distance and clinches. Giles wants a takedown but no success here.
Willis is trying to force a seperation but Giles has the dominant position. Willis gets a trip takedown into half guard. Giles pushes Willis off and gets back to his feet. Willis shoots for a takedown but Giles saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Giles tries to counter with a clinch but Willis shakes him off and moves away. Willis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Giles kicks off Willis and gets to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Willis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Willis wants it to stay on the feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Giles lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Willis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Willis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's one minute gone in the round. Giles regains half guard. Willis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Giles's head. Willis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Giles has managed to free his arm - good work. Giles is looking to control Willis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Giles avoid being mounted? Willis postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Giles to stand up. A low kick from Giles misses and Giles takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Willis misses with a takedown attempt and Giles counters with a nice uppercut. Giles shoots in for a takedown but Willis shows good takedown defense. Willis throws a big counter combination but Giles scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Carmelo Willis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Giles.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Willis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Giles sprawls well. Giles wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Willis gets slowly back to his feet. Giles misses with a leg kick and Willis counters with a good low kick that Giles was not able to check. Giles shoots in but Willis avoids the takedown attempt easily. Willis fails with a takedown attempt. Giles lands a leg kick that knocks Willis off balance momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Willis goes for a double leg but Giles avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Giles continues to drive forward. Giles darts in and clinches Willis up against the cage. Giles stalling in the clinch but Willis improves position. Willis has Giles pressed against the cage.
Giles is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Willis is keeping busy. Willis manages to break the clinch.
Willis dodges the punch combination from Giles.
Willis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Willis is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Willis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Willis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Gary Giles has got the better of the ground game so far. Willis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Giles works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Giles pulls Willis in to control the position. Giles looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Giles looking for a guillotine here but Willis defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Giles looking to control.
Carmelo Willis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gary Giles is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Willis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Gary Giles comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Giles has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
