Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Comanche Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clayton Channings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
33 - 30 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Comanche Todd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clayton Channings! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Channings walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Todd doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Channings moves out of range of the strikes. Todd is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Channings. Todd looks to land a left hand but Channings moved out of range nicely. Channings shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Channings throwing shots but Todd is blocking nicely. Todd avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Channings. Channings moves nicely into side control. Channings is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Todd is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Todd struggling a bit here. Channings working the strikes but Todd uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Channings not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Channings not landing any meaningful shots this time. Channings tries to pass to full mount but Todd defends it. Channings throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. That's two minutes gone in the round. Channings had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Todd defends it easily. Channings is looking for a triangle here but Todd uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Channings tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Todd wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Todd gets to mount! Channings was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Todd is standing up, even though he is in mount. Comanche Todd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Todd misses with a straight right. Channings wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Todd, as that shot connected.

and Channings counters with a nice double leg into guard. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Channings working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Channings postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Channings throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Channings throwing strikes but missing. Channings stopping the sweep attempt from Todd. Channings throwing strikes from guard but Todd blocks nicely. Channings scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Channings makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Todd avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Channings in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Channings loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Channings pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Todd is keeping the position for now. Todd is looking to stand up but Channings isn't so interested in that idea. Channings is looking to work some ground and pound but Todd has wrist control. Channings stays in close to Todd's body and controls the position. Channings trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Channings working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. A looping hook to the body misses from Channings. Todd does a little dance to reset his feet. It looked like Todd was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Todd misses with a hook. Channings ducked under it nicely. Todd moves out of range as Channings strikes. Todd slips a jab from Channings. Todd looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Channings takes a swing at Todd's ribcage but misses. Todd misses with a two punch combination.

Todd did well to prevent Channings getting side control. Todd has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Channings is on him like a limpet, forcing Todd back against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Todd goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Channings uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Todd. Channings on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Todd slips a jab from Channings. Channings will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Todd misses the jab. Comanche Todd is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Channings on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Todd throws a shot from downtown. Channings moves away and avoids it. Todd will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Todd misses with a hook. Channings changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Todd is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Channings can do to turn this around? Todd takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Comanche Todd is winning the standup battle so far. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Channings darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Todd pushes Channings off and gets back to his feet. Channings shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Todd sprawls well. Todd wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Channings closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Todd sneaks out the side door and pushes Channings away - he's back to his feet. That sent Todd stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Channings lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
