Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sergeant Major (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sergeant Major looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sergeant Major! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pete Jacobs! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobs closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jacobs lands in his opponent's guard. Major is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jacobs stays in close to Major's body and controls the position. Major is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jacobs controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Jacobs postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobs being controlled here momentarily. Major is looking for a triangle but Jacobs pushes his legs off easily.
Major can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jacobs controls the pace. Major is trying to keep Jacobs in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Major looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Major seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Jacobs pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Major is keeping the position for now. Jacobs is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Jacobs trying to control the position from guard on top but Major is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Major escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jacobs gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Major is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jacobs is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jacobs wants to get up but he can't break Major's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Sergeant Major will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

It looks like Sergeant Major has been cut. Jacobs darts in and clinches Major up against the cage. Jacobs lands a nice uppercut. A right hand to the body from Jacobs.

Jacobs lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Jacobs digs a right hand underneath Major's ribcage. Major let out a lung full of air as it connected. That's two minutes gone in the round. Major gets tackled into the cage by Jacobs. Jacobs maintains the clinch. Jacobs gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Major regains guard.
Major seems to have got his legs back now. Jacobs sitting in guard here, content to control. Jacobs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jacobs is continuing to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jacobs trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Jacobs stays in close to Major's body and controls the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Jacobs lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Jacobs darts in and clinches Major up against the cage. Jacobs lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Pete Jacobs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Sergeant Major's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
