Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johnnie Leonard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Leeroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Leeroy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Johnnie Leonard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bruce Leeroy!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leeroy throws a sloppy head kick

and Leonard counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Leonard controlling from the top position.
Leonard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Leeroy on the ground.

Leonard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leonard engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Leeroy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Leonard puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Leonard is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Leeroy tries for a takedown but Leonard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Leonard holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Leonard's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Leeroy has Leonard pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Leonard manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Johnnie Leonard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Leeroy.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Leeroy looking to stall.

Leonard controlling the action here for a moment.
Leeroy trying to control the position but instead, Leonard has worked for underhooks and has pushed Leeroy into the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Leeroy's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Leonard pulls Leeroy into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Leeroy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Leonard pushes Leeroy off and scrambles back to his feet.
Bruce Leeroy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Leeroy throws a sloppy head kick
and Leonard counters with a big head kick but Leeroy shrugs it off.
Leonard keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Leeroy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Leonard.
Leeroy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Leonard circles away.
Leonard leaves Leeroy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Leeroy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Leonard shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Leeroy tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Leeroy.

Leonard jumps guard and drags Leeroy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Leeroy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Leonard is trying to keep Leeroy in close.
Leonard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Leonard is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Leeroy dives in for a single leg takedown but Leonard sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Leonard was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Leonard is fighting to break Leeroy's control of his arms but Leeroy is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Leonard is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Leeroy defends it well.

Leeroy wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Leonard closes the distance and clinches.

Leeroy wants to pass the guard but Leonard is keeping the position.

Leonard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Leeroy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Leonard is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Leeroy can do to turn this around?

Leonard wants to control but Leeroy passes easily into half guard.
Leonard throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Leeroy is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Leonard has managed to free his arm - good work.
Leeroy wants to free his trapped foot but Leonard is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Leeroy wants to control but Leonard is keeping him busy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Leeroy prevents Leonard from standing back up.
Leeroy throwing shots but Leonard is blocking nicely.
Leeroy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Leonard's head.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Leeroy is working for a kimura here but Leonard manages to reverse the position and he's now in Leeroy's guard.
Leonard is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Leonard is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Leeroy is looking for a triangle but Leonard pushes his legs off easily.
Leonard prevents Leeroy from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Leeroy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Johnnie Leonard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Leonard lands a couple of elbows.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

and Leonard counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Leeroy looking for a triangle here. Leonard is fighting it but it looks tight! Leeroy pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Leonard is tapping out - this one is all over!
