Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jay Kush! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roran Garrow! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garrow throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kush. Kush swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Garrow takes the fight into the clinch. Kush looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Garrow looking for a takedown. Garrow is trying to pull guard but Kush has him pressed against the cage. Kush wants to break the clinch but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Garrow wants a takedown but no success here.
Jay Kush has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roran Garrow. Garrow breaks from the clinch.

It looks like Roran Garrow has been cut. Garrow clinches up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garrow has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kush clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Garrow really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kush. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Garrow seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Kush's chin but Kush turns very nicely into Garrow's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Kush.
Kush is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Garrow can do anything to dispel that myth. Kush passes Garrow's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Kush wants to take a breather but Garrow is having none of it. Kush passes to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kush working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kush trying to control the action but Garrow is working from the bottom. Garrow tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kush wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Kush decides to stand back up. Kush steps back and let's Garrow get back to his feet. Kush has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kush misses the shot to the body. Garrow shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Kush has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Garrow is on him like a limpet, forcing Kush back against the cage. Garrow lands with a right to the head. Garrow is looking to take this one to the mat. Kush is trying to force a seperation but Garrow has the dominant position. Garrow has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kush is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Garrow looks winded! Kush prevents the takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garrow prevents Kush from breaking the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Kush's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kush is trying to break the clinch but Garrow has him pressed against the cage. Garrow keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kush's efforts to push away. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Garrow has Kush pressed against the cage, preventing Kush from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Kush wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Garrow has him pressed against the cage. Garrow is looking to take this one to the mat. Kush can't break the clinch.

Kush throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Garrow gets the takedown into side control. Kush wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Garrow working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Garrow goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kush has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Garrow but great work by Kush. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's one minute gone in the round. Garrow is squirming around, avoiding Kush's attempts to control the action. Garrow is trying to escape the mount.
Kush has hold of Garrow's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Garrow manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Jay Kush overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kush is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Garrow has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Kush is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Kush extends the arm and Garrow is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jay Kush! In his post fight interview, Jay Kush started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
