PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stevie Franchise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Turd Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franchise comes to the cage accompanied by Microphone Fiend- Rage Against the Machine. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stevie Franchise!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Turd Ferguson!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Franchise tries to sprawl but Ferguson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Ferguson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Franchise!
Ferguson fails to advance to Franchise's back.
Ferguson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Let's hope that Ferguson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Ferguson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Franchise is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Franchise wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Franchise has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Ferguson with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
You get the feeling that Franchise really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ferguson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ferguson trying to control but Franchise is having none of it.

Ferguson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Franchise has worked his arm free - good work by Franchise!
Franchise stops Ferguson from passing to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ferguson swings around for an armbar but Franchise sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ferguson's guard.

Ferguson is working an open guard so Franchise takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
A punch lands to the side of Franchise 's head but he takes it in his stride.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ferguson shoots in for a takedown but Franchise shows good takedown defense.
Franchise scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ferguson doesn't seem bothered though.
Ferguson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Franchise scores with a jab to the head.
Ferguson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Franchise feints and then cracks Ferguson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ferguson down.
Franchise throws a quick inside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Franchise fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ferguson on the side of the head.
Nice defenses there by Ferguson.
Ferguson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Ferguson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ferguson misses with a body shot.
Franchise thinks about countering with a head kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Good shot there by Franchise.
Franchise connects with the punch.
Franchise avoids the body shot from Ferguson.

Franchise gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ferguson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Stevie Franchise will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ferguson jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Franchise scores with a jab to the body.
Ferguson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Franchise misses with a looping right.
Franchise lands a glancing blow to the side of Ferguson's head.
Franchise throws a series of punches but Ferguson moves out of range.
Ferguson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Franchise's sensitive parts.
Franchise cracks a nice hook into Ferguson's ribs.
Franchise is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ferguson can do to turn this around?
Ferguson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ferguson misses with a hook.
Franchise misses with the combination.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ferguson! But no joy.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A looping hook to the body misses from Franchise. Ferguson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ferguson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Franchise back to the cage. Ferguson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Franchise! Ferguson is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!

Stevie Franchise gave a mention to Voodoo Nutrition in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
