Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cedrick Frederick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cedrick Frederick could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Long's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cedrick Frederick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Long! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frederick misses with a straight right. Long tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Frederick defends well and Long ends up having to push Frederick into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Frederick blocks a head kick by Long.
Long misses with a kick to the body.
Long wants to clinch up but Frederick keeps it at a distance. Frederick is looking to counter punch. Long tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Frederick digs a good hook to Long's body.
Frederick takes a swing at Long's ribcage but misses. Long tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Long breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Long is defended easily by Frederick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Long misses the shot to the body. Long with a poor takedown and Frederick cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like John Long has been cut. Cedrick Frederick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Long. Frederick on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Long keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Frederick tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Long was well out of range. Poor timing from Frederick. Long on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Frederick. Frederick obviously looking to wear him down.
Long with a jab. Long throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Long steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Frederick. Frederick buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Long throws a body punch but Frederick moves out of range. Long steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Frederick. That one must have hurt. Long dives in and grabs Frederick's left leg, looking for a takedown. Frederick pushes down on Long's head and hops out. Frederick is looking to counter with a body kick. Long looks winded! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Long throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Frederick's waist but Frederick gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Long off to one side. Frederick was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Long fails with a takedown attempt. Long misses with a double jab
and Frederick counters with an outside leg kick.
Frederick fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Frederick chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Frederick lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Long at a distance.
Long ducks straight into an uppercut from Frederick and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Long manages to regain guard straight away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Long looking for a sweep. Not yet Long, not yet. Frederick wants to stand but Long is controlling his posture from full guard. Frederick has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Frederick decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frederick fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Long to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Long looks to clinch but Frederick throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Long taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Cedrick Frederick! After winning the bout, Cedrick Frederick thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
