PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ajax Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bart Paw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ajax Armstrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 15 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bart Paw!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paw will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Armstrong tries a head kick but it misses.
Paw avoids the head kick by Armstrong.
Armstrong definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Armstrong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Armstrong throws a sloppy head kick and Paw moves out of range easily.

Paw rushes Armstrong and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Paw tries to pull guard but Armstrong holds him up against the cage and eventually Paw drops back down to his feet.

Ajax Armstrong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bart Paw.

Paw's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Paw shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Armstrong's guard.

Paw got a little sloppy there for a moment and Armstrong has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Paw has managed to get both his arms back between Armstrong's legs - danger averted.

Paw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Paw works his way into full mount!

Paw is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Armstrong can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Paw prevents Armstrong from getting the reversal.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee warns Armstrong that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Paw lands a heavy elbow.

Armstrong is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Paw lands a couple of good shots and Armstrong has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Paw's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Paw really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Armstrong.
