Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lewis Warren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lath Hoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lath Hoy is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lewis Warren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lath Hoy!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid body kick from Warren.
Warren looks to land a body kick but Hoy moved away.
Hoy throws and low kick but Warren moves out of range easily.
Hoy has a takedown stuffed.
Hoy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Warren tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Warren throws a right and a left that Hoy avoids nicely.
Warren stuffs the takedown attempt from Hoy. Hoy gets slowly back to his feet.
Lewis Warren has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lath Hoy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Warren rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hoy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Warren connects with a high kick.


It looks like Lath Hoy has been cut.
Hoy fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Warren scores with the left hand. Hoy knows he should have avoided that one.
A lazy body kick from Hoy

and Warren counters with a flying knee that drops Hoy!


Hoy is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hoy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hoy is still in real trouble! Can Warren finish him?

Hoy has his foot on Warren's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Warren works his way back into a safe position though.
Hoy seems to have recovered his senses.
Hoy looks gassed!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hoy is on top in guard.

Hoy has gone for a leg lock! Warren slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hoy's guard.

Hoy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Warren gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hoy looking for a sweep. Not yet Hoy, not yet.

Hoy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Hoy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Warren doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Warren manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hoy looking for a sweep. Not yet Hoy, not yet.

Hoy working for a triangle but Warren defends it easily.
Hoy is trying to control the position but Warren postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hoy working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Warren has passed into half guard!
Hoy is trying to control but can't.
Hoy wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lewis Warren dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lath Hoy's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hoy wants to clinch up but Warren keeps it at a distance.
Hoy tries for a takedown but Warren circles away easily
and Warren counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Warren throws a half hearted mid kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Warren.
Hoy misses with a takedown attempt
and Warren counters with a low kick, right behind Hoy 's knee.
A head kick by Hoy misses
and Warren counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Hoy is trying desperately to land a takedown but Warren is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Hoy.
Hoy is breathing heavily.
Warren knocks Hoy to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoy is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hoy struggling a bit here.
Hoy tries to bench press Warren off him but Warren keeps the position.
Hoy regains half guard.
Hoy trying to hold on to Warren's head to control him but Warren postures up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Hoy actively working from the bottom here.

Hoy looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hoy with a lazy takedown attempt
and Warren counters with a nice body kick.
Lewis Warren has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lath Hoy.
Hoy sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Hoy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Warren counters with a low kick, right behind Hoy 's knee.

Warren will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hoy has his takedown stuffed
and Warren counters with a flying knee. Nice.


That has opened up Lath Hoy's cut even more.
Hoy fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Warren goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hoy misses with the combination.
Warren throws a head kick that misses.
Hoy is looking to clinch.
Hoy misses with a takedown attempt - Warren sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hoy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Warren circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Hoy shoots for a takedown but Warren saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Warren misses with a head kick.
Warren looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Hoy throws a leg kick but Warren checks it.
Hoy misses with a low kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Warren avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lewis Warren is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Warren misses with a double jab

and Hoy counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Warren!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hoy swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Warren is now in Hoy's guard. A big mistake from Hoy there, giving up the dominant position!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Hoy has an active guard here but Warren has managed to pass into half guard.
Warren is thwarting Hoy's attempts to control the position.

Hoy looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Hoy is trying to control but can't.

Hoy moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Hoy working for a triangle but Warren defends it easily.
Hoy trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Hoy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Hoy jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Warren manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Hoy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Warren is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lath Hoy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Warren has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
