Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Bakk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Tarlac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Bakk has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Bakk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Tarlac!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tarlac lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Tarlac lands a right hook to the body.

Bakk pushes Tarlac up against the ropes in a clinch.
Bakk is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Bakk tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tarlac just stands there and leans against the ropes.

Tarlac breaks from the clinch.
Bakk definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Bakk does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bakk shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tarlac but Tarlac pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A countering left hand to the body from Tarlac misses.
Bakk with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tarlac to score with a decent uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tarlac bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Bakk throws a right hand that Tarlac ducks under and follows up with a left that Tarlac also avoids with ease.

and Tarlac counters with a straight right hand.
Bakk tries to bum rush Tarlac with a series of wild strikes but Tarlac uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bakk throws a head kick that misses
and Tarlac counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Matt Bakk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bakk fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tarlac avoids it really well and circles away.

Tarlac has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bakk is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Tarlac bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bakk's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tarlac stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Tarlac throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bakk on the side of the head.

Bakk misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tarlac goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Bakk tries to clinch but Tarlac moves away
and Tarlac counters with a straight right hand.
Bakk misses with a takedown attempt - Tarlac sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A little jabbing left from Tarlac on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Bakk shoots in for a takedown but Tarlac shows good takedown defense.
Bakk is breathing heavily.

Tarlac is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Bakk had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Bakk closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Bakk shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Bakk moves to clinch but Tarlac breaks away
and Tarlac counters with a nice uppercut.
Bakk's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Tarlac connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bakk scrambles back to his feet.
A nice combination there by Tarlac.
Tarlac scores with a punch to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tarlac lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Tarlac lands with a right hand.
Tarlac might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Tarlac slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.


Bakk is rocked!

Tarlac darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Oh Bakk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bakk takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Bakk. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
