Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 60 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ipod Apple! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willie Salazar! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Apple has taken the fight to the clinch.
Apple misses with a punch to the body.
Salazar can't find room to land a body shot as Apple controls the action.
Apple misses with a hook to the ribs.
Apple dodges an elbow strike from Salazar.
Apple presses Salazar against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Salazar tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Apple's elbow. Apple tries to throw a body punch but Salazar avoids it by throwing Apple back against the cage. Salazar has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Apple lands a right hand that snaps the head of Salazar backwards. Apple struggles to land a body shot inside as Salazar controls his hands.
Apple tries to work over Salazar's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Apple could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Apple presses Salazar against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. A left hand lands to the body for Apple.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Apple tries a body shot but Salazar blocks it.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Apple. Salazar blocks a body shot from Apple. Salazar scores with a shoulder strike. Apple tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Apple is trying to break the clinch but Salazar has him pressed against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Apple goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Salazar blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Apple lands a shoulder strike. Salazar lands a right hand that snaps the head of Apple backwards. Nice body punch from Apple - that landed with a thud.
A head punch on the inside from Salazar fails to land. A head punch on the inside from Salazar fails to land. Apple tries a body shot but Salazar blocks it.
Apple misses with a shot to the kidneys.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Salazar has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Salazar prevents a body shot from Apple. Apple goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Apple. Apple lands with a light punch inside. Nice body punch from Apple. Apple doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Apple lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Salazar misses with a punch on the inside.
Salazar throws a punch but it's blocked by Apple. Salazar is trying to pull guard but Apple turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Apple on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Apple has Salazar pressed against the cage, preventing Salazar from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Salazar misses with a short punch on the inside. Apple working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Apple avoiding damage as Salazar throws knees to the body.

Salazar is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Apple rolls with it to try and escape but Salazar cranks on the arm and Apple is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
