Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Lazurick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Cogliano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake Lazurick has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Lazurick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Josh Cogliano! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lazurick has closed the distance and engaged Cogliano in a clinch.
Cogliano looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Cogliano changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lazurick fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Josh Cogliano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lazurick with a body punch. A glancing blow. Lazurick closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Lazurick prevents Cogliano from improving his position. Lazurick wants to control but Cogliano is keeping him busy. Cogliano actively working from the bottom here. Lazurick winds up and cracks Cogliano with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Well, if Lazurick is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Lazurick decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Lazurick decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lazurick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cogliano keeps working. Cogliano wants to control but Lazurick is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lazurick is keen to just control but Cogliano is a slippery customer. Lazurick prevents Cogliano from improving his position. Lazurick working Cogliano over with strikes. Lazurick is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cogliano doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lazurick. Cogliano is refusing to be controlled, as Lazurick sits in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lazurick lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cogliano at a distance.
Lazurick closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Lazurick looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Cogliano takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Cogliano is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lazurick asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lazurick remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Lazurick wants to control but Cogliano is keeping him busy. Cogliano stops Lazurick from passing to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cogliano gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Lazurick wants to pass to mount but Cogliano is defending the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lazurick is just content to waste time from the top position. Cogliano takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Cogliano is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cogliano had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lazurick is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cogliano Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lazurick's back instead. Lazurick staying busy and making it hard for Cogliano to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Lazurick dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Lazurick throws a series of punches but Cogliano moves out of range. Lazurick scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Lazurick trying to control the action but Cogliano is working from the bottom. Cogliano is looking to reverse the position. Lazurick is working to tighten is grip on Cogliano's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Cogliano has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Lazurick is really squeezing tight and eventually Cogliano passes out! Lazurick breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
