Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jamar Hickman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Callum Swagger! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swagger tries to clinch there but Hickman circles away.
Hickman closes the distance and pushes Swagger back into the cage. Hickman breaks the clinch.
Hickman displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Hickman scores with a nice head shot. Swagger goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Swagger will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. An attempted straight right counter from Hickman misses the target. Swagger instigates a clinch. Swagger wants to take the fight to the mat but Hickman manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Swagger tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jamar Hickman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Callum Swagger. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Swagger escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hickman throws the left hand but Swagger avoids the punch easily. Swagger ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Swagger shoots in for a takedown but Hickman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Swagger tries to clinch but Hickman moves out of range. Swagger throws a sloppy head kick and Hickman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Swagger changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hickman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Swagger lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hickman down.
Hickman is trying to improve his position. Swagger working the ground and pound but Hickman is defending the strikes. Swagger stands up and beckons Hickman to his feet. Swagger should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Swagger gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hickman throws a right and a left that Swagger avoids nicely. Swagger shoots in looking for a takedown but Hickman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Swagger's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. An attempted straight right counter from Hickman misses the target. Swagger tries for a takedown but Hickman circles away easily and Hickman counters by clinching up. Swagger looks winded! Swagger tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hickman smiles and moves away.
Hickman misses with a wild body shot. Hickman cracks Swagger with a good jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swagger with a lazy takedown attempt and Hickman moves into the clinch. Swagger goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hickman prevents it.

Swagger gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hickman counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hickman. Hickman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hickman keeps the fight on the outside. Swagger darts in looking for a takedown but Hickman gets double underhooks and turns Swagger into the cage. No luck with that takedown attempt from Swagger.

Swagger tries to clinch but Hickman is having none of it. Hickman throws a looping overhand right but Swagger ducks down to avoid it. Hickman lands with a cross. Swagger wants to clinch. Hickman tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Swagger manages to circle out of the way. A shot to the liver by Hickman. Beautiful body shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jamar Hickman dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hickman moves into the clinch. Hickman wants to break free but Swagger has control.
Hickman has Swagger pushed against the cage. Swagger manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Hickman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hickman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Swagger can do to turn this around? Swagger looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Swagger being controlled here, momentarily. Swagger avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hickman is looking to work some ground and pound but Swagger has wrist control. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Swagger not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jamar Hickman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Swagger is looking to clinch. Swagger looks to clinch and Hickman counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Nice strikes from Hickman there. Swagger missing with punches from the bottom.
Swagger wants to get back to full guard but Hickman has passed into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Swagger can't do much from the bottom here. Hickman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Swagger keeps working. The referee asks Hickman politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hickman prefers to stall for the moment though. You can see the frustration on Swagger's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hickman trying to control the position but Swagger is working away. Hickman gets to mount! Swagger was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Hickman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Jamar Hickman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Swagger tries to reverse the position but Hickman maintains control. Swagger trying desperately to get to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Swagger can't escape the position.

Hickman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hickman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Swagger on the ground. Swagger has momentary wrist control but Hickman slips an elbow through the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hickman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Hickman throws a big elbow that misses. Swagger looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Swagger is working for takedown but Hickman is calmly controlling the position for now. Hickman with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

and Swagger counters with a series of strikes. Hickman will be more careful next time no doubt. Hickman's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Hickman duly obliges. Swagger slips a straight right by Hickman. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Swagger fails with an attempt to clinch.
Callum Swagger has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jamar Hickman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Swagger throws a head kick but Hickman moves out of range.

And that's the end of the fight! Jamar Hickman showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hickman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
