Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emmett Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tad Brokwitzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tad Brokwitzer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Emmett Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tad Brokwitzer! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brokwitzer looking to score a takedown here. Smith is defending well but Brokwitzer drives through and ends up in Smith's guard. Smith working a defensive guard here.
Brokwitzer throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Brokwitzer stays in close to Smith's body and controls the position. Smith throws his legs up looking for a submission but Brokwitzer uses it to pass to side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Brokwitzer's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith is not content to let Brokwitzer control the position. Brokwitzer with the ground and pound but Smith uses the opportunity to regain guard. Brokwitzer is looking to pass into half guard but Smith pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Smith is in guard. Smith loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Smith is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brokwitzer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brokwitzer has escaped and now he's on top! Brokwitzer controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brokwitzer trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brokwitzer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Brokwitzer showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Smith looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Smith is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Brokwitzer is aware though and is defending well. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Brokwitzer looking to sit in guard and control but Smith gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Smith preventing the sweep. Smith scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Smith trying to stand up but can't free himself from Brokwitzer's guard. Smith stops Brokwitzer from standing up. Smith loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Brokwitzer is striking but Smith is not phased and passes to half guard. Brokwitzer controlling the position well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Emmett Smith will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Brokwitzer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Smith scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Brokwitzer manages to mount him!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Smith looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Brokwitzer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Brokwitzer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working. Brokwitzer blocks the strikes from Smith.
Brokwitzer sitting and controlling from the half guard. Smith is looking to control Brokwitzer's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Smith avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Brokwitzer stalling away here and it's allowed Smith to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Brokwitzer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Tad Brokwitzer has got the better of the ground game so far. Brokwitzer trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Brokwitzer drives through with a takedown into Smith's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is trying to control the position but Brokwitzer postures up. Brokwitzer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Brokwitzer looking to sit in guard and control but Smith gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Smith connects with a couple of short punches. Smith throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Smith working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Smith is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Brokwitzer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Brokwitzer wants to control but Smith passes easily into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Smith lands a nice short elbow. Nice strikes from Smith there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brokwitzer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smith is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nice sprawl there from Brokwitzer as Smith shoots in. As Smith backs off Brokwitzer throws a huge counter combo but Smith manages to avoid it all. Brokwitzer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Smith has his takedown stuffed and Brokwitzer counters with a left and a right that stings Smith. Brokwitzer darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Brokwitzer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Brokwitzer trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom. Brokwitzer passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Smith! Smith sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Brokwitzer stalling. Brokwitzer postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Smith to stand up. Brokwitzer stalks Smith and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Smith's face. Smith staggers backwards, shaken. Smith avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Brokwitzer tries a head kick but it misses.
Brokwitzer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brokwitzer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Brokwitzer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Brokwitzer tries for a kimura but Smith is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith sneaks back into half guard. Smith wants to get back to full guard. Smith is working hard here to advance position. Smith is defending against the submission attempts here by Brokwitzer.
Smith is in trouble now - Brokwitzer has advanced to mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Brokwitzer throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Smith really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smith is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Tad Brokwitzer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Smith has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
