Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Padilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Callum Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fernando Padilla has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Fernando Padilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Callum Gray!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Gray, right into the meat.
Padilla throws a solid leg kick but Gray takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Padilla.

Padilla has taken the fight to the clinch.

Gray is taking a breather. Padilla says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Padilla manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Gray is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Padilla to keep the fight standing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gray is defended easily by Padilla.

That was a close round but I would say that Fernando Padilla will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Padilla escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gray gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Padilla is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gray feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
