Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Otha Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilson Reegan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Otha Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wilson Reegan!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reegan rushes Head and presses him up against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Head as Reegan tries to tie him up.

Reegan successfully pulls guard.
Head postures up and lands a big shot to Reegan's brow.
Reegan controls Head momentarily but Head frees himself.
Reegan has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Head has passed into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reegan can't do much from the bottom here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Head scores with punches from side control.
Head working the head with strikes.
Reegan tries to bench press Head off him but Head keeps the position.
Reegan wants to control but Head postures up.
Reegan tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Head is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Reegan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Head stands up and beckons Reegan to his feet.
Head really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Head closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Reegan has one foot on Head's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Head tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reegan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Head somewhat.

Reegan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Reegan wants to control from the top but Head keeps moving.
Head pulls Reegan in close to prevent any damage.
Reegan trying to control the position from guard on top but Head is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Head preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reegan wants to control from the top but Head keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Head looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Reegan wants to control from the top but Head keeps moving.
Reegan is looking to work some ground and pound but Head has wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Reegan stuffs the takedown.
Head shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilson Reegan dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Reegan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Head has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Reegan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Head pulls guard successfully.
Head trying to control the position.
Head will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Reegan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reegan is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Reegan chips away with some ground and pound.
Head throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Reegan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Reegan wants to control from the top but Head keeps moving.

Head working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reegan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reegan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Wilson Reegan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reegan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Head's guard.
Reegan tries to free his leg and advance position but Head is retaining full guard.
Reegan trying to control but Head is working from the bottom.
Reegan works over Head with some ground and pound from guard.
Reegan throwing strikes but missing.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Reegan drives through with a takedown into guard.
Head pulls Reegan in close to his closed guard and prevents Reegan from doing any damage or advancing position.
Head looking to hit a scissor sweep but Reegan is one step ahead there.

Reegan stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Head gets caught flat footed, as Reegan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Reegan wants to stand and escape but instead Head has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Reegan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Reegan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Head's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilson Reegan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Reegan looks to score with a jab to the body but Head is just out of range.

Head gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Head tries to score a body lock takedown but Reegan shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Reegan tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Reegan breaks the clinch.

Reegan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Head makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Reegan moves to clinch but Head breaks away
and Head counters with a left and a right that stings Reegan.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Head shoots in for a takedown but Reegan shows good takedown defense.
Head circles away from the clinch attempt.
Head tries for a takedown but Reegan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Otha Head. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Head closes the distance and clinches.
Head jumps guard but Reegan stands there with Head around his waist. Head gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Head is looking for a takedown.
Head drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Reegan gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Reegan gets control of Head's arms and successfully pulls guard. Reegan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Reegan is striking off his back. Head thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Reegan regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Reegan looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Head has picked Reegan up and slammed him! Reegan can't keep hold of the triangle and Head manages to pass to side control!
Reegan looking for a sweep but Head has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Reegan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Reegan is wriggling around trying to escape.
Head is landing with some decent strikes but Reegan is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Reegan wants to control but Head is having none of it.
Reegan is bucking up trying to escape but Head cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reegan is wriggling around trying to escape.
Head lands a nice shot to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Head cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Head looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Reegan wants to hold on but Head pushes him away.
Reegan really wants to buck Head off and get back to his feet.

Head with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Head fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Head connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Reegan working to try and regain half guard.
Reegan sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Nice strikes from Head there.
Otha Head has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wilson Reegan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Reegan wants to control but Head is keeping busy and won't allow it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Otha Head showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Reegan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
