The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams moves into range and connects with a jab.

It looks like Phil Anselmo has been cut.
Anselmo misses with a left hand
and Williams cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Williams drops Anselmo with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Anselmo looks back up at him and smiles so Williams waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Anselmo shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Williams misses with an uppercut.
Anselmo misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Williams throws a hook but Anselmo avoids it easily.
Williams missing with a left hand there. Anselmo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Anselmo feints the counter takedown.
Williams misses with a lunging right hand

and Anselmo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Anselmo wants to pass the guard but Williams is keeping the position.
Williams on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Williams tries to get out of the position.
Anselmo trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom.

Williams is pulling down on Anselmo's head to control his posture.
Anselmo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Anselmo stands and throws Williams's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Anselmo trying to control the position but Williams is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Williams might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Williams dodges the ground and pound from Anselmo.
Anselmo wants to control but Williams is keeping him busy.
