The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Zamora.
Evanson is trying to control Zamora's posture but Zamora avoids it.
Zamora goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Evanson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Zamora but great work by Evanson.
Who's going to make the next move?
Zamora really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Evanson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Zamora to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zamora dives in and grabs Evanson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Evanson pushes down on Zamora's head and hops out.
Zamora shoots in but Evanson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Evanson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Zamora on his heels. He'll look to pass Zamora's guard now, I'm sure.
Zamora has control of Evanson's left arm, preventing Evanson from doing any damage.
Zamora has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Evanson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Zamora closes this distance looking for a takedown but Evanson circles away.

Evanson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Zamora was covering up waiting for the punch and Evanson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Zamora bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Evanson's guard.

Zamora shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Evanson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

and Zamora counters with a nice double leg into side control. Evanson won't be happy with that.

Evanson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Zamora is controlling him well.

That was a close round but I would say that Roman Zamora will probably get the nod.

Zamora shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Evanson's guard.
Evanson has his feet on Zamora's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Evanson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Zamora is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Zamora shoots in for a double leg but Evanson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Zamora fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Evanson avoids it really well and circles away.
Zamora tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Evanson defends well and Zamora ends up having to push Evanson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Thor Evanson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Evanson lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Zamora goes down and covers up as Evanson starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
