Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bill Goldberg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robin Tuck! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some bone on bone action there as Goldberg checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Goldberg misses with an uppercut. Tuck saw that one coming. Goldberg shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Goldberg scoring with strikes to the body and head. Goldberg controlling the action here. Tuck wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tuck wants to get back to full guard. Goldberg is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Goldberg works his way into full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Tuck is looking to get to half guard. Goldberg looking to control and managing it successfully. Goldberg scoring with strikes but Tuck is staying in there. Goldberg controlling the position easily from mount. Tuck is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tuck tries to hold on but Goldberg postures up. Goldberg lands a heavy elbow. Goldberg tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Goldberg has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Goldberg avoids the attempt from Tuck to control. Goldberg controlling from the full mount. Goldberg working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tuck throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Goldberg takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Tuck is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Tuck is in a horrible position here. Goldberg smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
It looks like Robin Tuck has been cut. Tuck defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Goldberg. Tuck wants to hold on but Goldberg pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Goldberg looking to control and managing it successfully. Tuck keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Goldberg controlling from the full mount. Tuck tries to control Goldberg's body but Goldberg pushes him off. Tuck squirms to his side and now Goldberg has his back! So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Tuck felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bill Goldberg dominated that round. The cut man is working on Robin Tuck's cut. That's time! Goldberg's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Goldberg tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Goldberg seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Goldberg will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Tuck throws out a counter right but Goldberg avoids it with no problem. The fight moves into the clinch position. Tuck manages to break the clinch.
Tuck digs a good hook to Goldberg's body.
Tuck lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Goldberg backs up against the cage.
It looks like Bill Goldberg has been cut. Tuck ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Goldberg moves away. Tuck lands a nice looking kick to the body. Goldberg takes a step back to recover. Goldberg has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Tuck finds it's way round the side to connect with Goldberg's head. Goldberg darts in looking for a takedown but Tuck gets double underhooks and turns Goldberg into the cage. Tuck throws out a counter right but Goldberg avoids it with no problem. Tuck connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tuck tries to close the distance and clinch but Goldberg swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tuck looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Goldberg went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Goldberg fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bill Goldberg. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tuck circles away from the clinch attempt.
Goldberg shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Tuck lands an overhand right. Tuck looks to land a combination but Goldberg avoids it well. Goldberg attempts a counter takedown but Tuck avoids it well and moves away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Goldberg is defended easily by Tuck. Goldberg tries to clinch but Tuck moves out of range. Tuck swinging wildly here.
Tuck lands a glancing blow to the side of Goldberg's head. Tuck lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Good shot there by Tuck. Tuck throws a leg kick and Goldberg counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tuck! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Goldberg wants to control but Tuck is keeping him busy. Goldberg working away. Goldberg in side control lands a decent elbow. Bill Goldberg overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tuck looks to move to half guard but instead Goldberg has passed into mount! Damn! Tuck taking shots to the head. Goldberg connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Tuck tries to reverse the position but Goldberg maintains control. Tuck really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goldberg. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goldberg postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Tuck out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Goldberg goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
