Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Rocha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murilo Magellan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murilo Magellan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Rocha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Murilo Magellan! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Magellan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rocha as he avoids it easily. Magellan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rocha shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Magellan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rocha is trying to control Magellan's posture but Magellan avoids it. Magellan tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Magellan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Magellan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rocha keeps working. Rocha is trying to control Magellan's posture but Magellan avoids it. Magellan in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Rocha avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Magellan preventing the sweep. Rocha looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Magellan wants to control from the top but Rocha keeps moving. Magellan stands up over Rocha, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Rocha looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Rocha keeping moving, preventing Magellan from controlling successfully. Rocha trying to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Magellan looking to pass the guard. Rocha has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Magellan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Rocha is breathing heavily. Rocha keeping moving, preventing Magellan from controlling successfully. Magellan wants to pass the guard but Rocha is keeping the position. Rocha not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Magellan clinches up with Rocha and pushes him back against the cage. Rocha breaks the clinch.
Magellan tries to clinch there but Rocha circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rocha takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Magellan throws a nice inside leg kick. Rocha keeps the fight on the outside. Rocha fails with the takedown. Magellan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Murilo Magellan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rocha has his takedown stuffed and Magellan counters with a nice uppercut. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Rocha. That's going to take a lot out of him. Magellan fails with a takedown attempt. Rocha gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Magellan counters with a one-two to the body. Rocha has a takedown stuffed. Magellan shoots and misses and Rocha holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. A shot in the inside from Rocha. Rocha turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rocha tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rocha has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Magellan is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Magellan tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Rocha swings around for an armbar but Magellan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rocha's guard. Rocha has a closed guard, preventing Magellan from standing up. Magellan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Magellan trying to control the position from guard on top but Rocha is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Magellan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rocha swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Murilo Magellan will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Rocha has his takedown stuffed and Magellan counters with a stiff right hand. Magellan looks to clinch and Rocha counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Magellan! Magellan tries to reverse the position but Rocha maintains control. Magellan takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Magellan can't escape the position.
Rocha trying to control but Magellan is having none of it. Magellan is looking to get to half guard. Rocha controlling the pace for now. Magellan tries to lock up and control but Rocha gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rocha tries to control but Magellan wriggling away.

Magellan wants to hold on but Rocha pushes him away. Magellan is trying desperately to improve position. Magellan throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Rocha avoids the attempt from Magellan to control. Rocha controlling the position easily from mount. Magellan is squirming around, avoiding Rocha's attempts to control the action. Magellan manages to regain half guard. Good work. Rocha looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rocha seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Rocha perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Nice strikes from Rocha there. Rocha performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rocha is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Rocha sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Anderson Rocha just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Rocha has taken the fight to the clinch.
Magellan can't break the clinch.

Rocha feints and as Magellan raises his hands in defense, Rocha changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Rocha controlling from the top position. Rocha wants to control from the top but Magellan keeps moving. Rocha missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rocha had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Magellan is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rocha Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Magellan's back instead. Rocha trying to control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Magellan wants to escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. What can Magellan do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Rocha is looking for the choke from the back position but Magellan is controlling his hands well. Magellan tries to roll but Rocha sticks to his back.

Anderson Rocha overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rocha tries to control but Magellan wriggling away. Rocha wants to finish this one by submission but Magellan is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rocha. Rocha controlling his opponent. Magellan taking shots to the head. Rocha connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Magellan is rocked! Rocha is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Magellan has managed to escape the submission attempt.
