PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Robinetti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Wrigley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robinetti comes to the cage accompanied by Little Wings - Mark Gormley. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Wrigley!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinetti tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wrigley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wrigley shapes to counter with a head kick.
Wrigley stuffs the takedown attempt from Robinetti. Robinetti gets slowly back to his feet.
Wrigley gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Robinetti counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wrigley fails to land the takedown.
Robinetti lands a slapping body shot.
Robinetti connects with a single shot there.


It looks like Jake Wrigley has been cut.
Robinetti thumps Wrigley with a low kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wrigley dives in for a single leg takedown but Robinetti sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Wrigley counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Robinetti!

Wrigley takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Wrigley is trying to control the action in half guard but Robinetti is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Wrigley might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Robinetti haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wrigley is taking a breather. Robinetti says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Robinetti tries to get to full guard but Wrigley has control of the leg.
Wrigley seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Robinetti does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Robinetti throws a right hand that Wrigley ducks under and follows up with a left that Wrigley also avoids with ease.

and Wrigley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Robinetti's guard.

Robinetti is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Wrigley presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Wrigley tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Robinetti smiles and moves away.

Wrigley closes the distance and clinches.
A frustrated look appears on Robinetti's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Robinetti wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wrigley has him pressed against the cage.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Wrigley wants to take the fight to the mat but Robinetti manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Wrigley gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Robinetti regains guard.

Wrigley gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Wrigley tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Robinetti defends well and Wrigley ends up having to push Robinetti into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
