Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Argivas Kerenzikov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, Davor Langerholc! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Decent striking displayed by Kerenzikov there. Kerenzikov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Langerholc tries to bum rush Kerenzikov with a series of wild strikes but Kerenzikov uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Langerholc gets caught napping as Kerenzikov dives in and scores a takedown. Langerholc manages to retain guard. Kerenzikov lands a couple of digs. Langerholc working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kerenzikov. Langerholc has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Kerenzikov is in close to Langerholc's body, working some short punches and elbows. Kerenzikov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Langerholc is keeping the position for now. Langerholc has his hands on Kerenzikov's head, controlling the position. Kerenzikov distracts Langerholc with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Kerenzikov with a nice head shot there. Langerholc working for a triangle but Kerenzikov defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kerenzikov connects with a couple of short punches. Kerenzikov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Langerholc swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kerenzikov postures up in Langerholc's guard and throws a big left but Langerholc blocks it. Kerenzikov throwing strikes from guard but Langerholc blocks nicely. Langerholc has momentary wrist control but Kerenzikov slips an elbow through the middle. Kerenzikov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kerenzikov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kerenzikov chips away with some ground and pound. Langerholc preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Langerholc is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Langerholc pushes a forearm under Kerenzikov's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Kerenzikov is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
