Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Waldorf Astoria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hannibal Hatfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hannibal Hatfield told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Astoria there.
Hatfield tries to clinch there but Astoria circles away.

Hatfield tries to clinch up but Astoria circles away and keeps his distance.
Astoria cracks Hatfield with an open hand slap.
It looks like Hannibal Hatfield has been cut.

Hatfield is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hatfield lands a nice short elbow.

Hatfield tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hatfield has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Astoria is taking a breather. Hatfield says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Hannibal Hatfield's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A punch combination from Astoria misses.
Hatfield wants to clinch.
Hatfield misses with a straight left.
Astoria swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Astoria's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Astoria duly obliges.

Astoria slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
That has opened up Hannibal Hatfield's cut even more.
Hatfield on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Hatfield wants to clinch up but Astoria keeps it at a distance.

Hatfield uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Astoria.
Nice uppercut lands for Astoria. That snapped Hatfield's head back.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Astoria.

Waldorf Astoria seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hatfield takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Astoria lands a really nice looking cross but Hatfield seems unphased.

Hatfield takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Hannibal Hatfield's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Astoria throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Astoria punishes Hatfield's body with a nice straight punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Astoria misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Astoria avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Hatfield misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Astoria.
Astoria throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Hatfield tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Astoria paws at him with a jab and circles away.

No joy there for Hatfield, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Astoria lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hannibal Hatfield's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Waldorf Astoria!
