Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michale Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hans Grietje (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hans Grietje is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michale Waters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hans Grietje! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grietje looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Waters has Grietje up against the cage in a clinch.
Waters displaying some good clinch control by pressing Grietje up against the cage. Grietje is trying to break the clinch but Waters has him pressed against the cage. Waters pulls guard effortlessly. Waters trying to control the position here. Waters might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Waters has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Waters bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Grietje's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Waters decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Waters fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Grietje, pushing him back against the cage. Grietje drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Waters gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Grietje has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. A frustrated look appears on Grietje's face as he tries to break the clinch. Waters gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Grietje.
Waters ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Waters no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Waters is pulling down on Grietje's head to control his posture. Waters kicks Grietje off and gets to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grietje shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Waters pinned against the cage. Waters gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. As Grietje tries to get set, Waters tries to push him back and clinch up but Grietje manages to avoid the attempt. Michale Waters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hans Grietje. A punch combination from Grietje misses. Waters tries to counter by clinching up but Grietje breaks away and moves out of range. Waters has Grietje up against the cage in a clinch.
Grietje breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Grietje will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Grietje trying his best to control but Waters has mounted him. Waters working for a submission but Grietje is keeping him at bay. Waters stands up from mount. Strange move. Grietje swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Waters counters by clinching up. Grietje tries to break the clinch but Waters is controlling the position. Waters jumps guard.
Waters manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Waters breaks from the clinch.
Grietje pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Waters back to the cage. Grietje follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Grietje shoots in for a takedown but Waters shows good takedown defense. As Grietje tries to get set, Waters tries to push him back and clinch up but Grietje manages to avoid the attempt. Grietje looks winded! Waters blocks a head kick by Grietje.
Waters is looking for a counter combo. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Grietje is defended easily by Waters. Waters tries to counter by clinching up but Grietje breaks away and moves out of range. Waters scores with a takedown into Grietje's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michale Waters dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Waters takes a kick to the side of the head. Grietje looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Grietje scores with a jab. Grietje throws a right hand that Waters ducks under and follows up with a left that Waters also avoids with ease. Waters showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Grietje.
Waters seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Waters pushes Grietje up against the cage in a clinch.

Waters is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Grietje. Grietje swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Waters holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Waters successfully pulls guard.
Grietje really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Waters. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Grietje stopping the sweep attempt from Waters. Waters pulls Grietje in close to prevent any damage. Waters is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Waters stands up and beckons Grietje to join him on the feet. Grietje tries a head kick but it misses.
Waters is looking to counter the offense by Grietje and move into the clinch. Waters pushes Grietje up against the cage in a clinch. Waters breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Waters displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Grietje throws out the jab. Waters rushes Grietje and presses him up against the cage. Grietje looking for a takedown. Waters gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Waters decides to return to a standing position. Grietje is breathing heavily.

so Waters counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Grietje is wriggling around but Waters manages to pass to half guard.
Waters wants to work for an arm triangle but Grietje is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Waters is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Grietje doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Waters. Waters stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Waters keeps the fight on the outside. It looked like Waters was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Waters rushes Grietje and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Waters fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Waters stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Waters fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Grietje, pushing him back against the cage. Waters ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Waters no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Waters is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Waters lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Waters drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Waters jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Waters stands and steps away. Grietje gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Waters keeps the fight on the outside. Waters is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Grietje can do to turn this around? Waters avoids the head kick by Grietje.

Waters could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. This has been an exciting period of action! Grietje misses with a series of wild punches.
Waters wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Michale Waters showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Waters, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
