Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between John Equinox and Paul Williams. Williams is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by All the Above- Maino ft. T-Pain. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 2 losses; John Equinox! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 1 losses; Paul Williams!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Paul Tew and Donald Grub.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
The fight stays on the outside here - Williams looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Equinox keeps the fight on the outside.
Williams tries to clinch up but Equinox circles away and keeps his distance.

Equinox instigates a clinch.
Williams gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Equinox.
Williams is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Williams pulls guard.
Williams is controlling Equinox's posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Equinox passes Williams's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Williams is controlling Equinox's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Equinox is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Williams doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Equinox.

Equinox moves into full mount! Williams won't be happy about that!

Equinox wants to control but instead Williams manages to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Equinox is looking to pass Williams's guard but actually Williams recovers to full guard.

Equinox is working hard here to advance position.
Williams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Williams is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Williams wants to control the pace but Equinox is squirming around nicely.
Williams takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Williams is looking to work his way around to Equinox's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Williams can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Equinox is looking to escape.
Equinox keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Williams trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Williams sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Equinox is wriggling around trying to escape.

Williams wants to control the pace but Equinox is squirming around nicely.

Equinox might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Equinox sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Williams is looking to advance position but Equinox won't allow it.

Williams is trying to control the action in half guard but Equinox is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Williams wants to free his trapped foot but Equinox is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Williams stalling.

Equinox keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully.

Williams engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Williams trying to control the position from guard on top but Equinox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Williams seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Williams drops back, looking for a kneebar! Equinox looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Equinox looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Equinox!

Williams is trying to improve his position.
Equinox tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Equinox working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Equinox content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Equinox goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Williams rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Equinox's guard! Nice work there by Williams!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
As we have tied on points, we go to a tie breaker and Equinox gets a bonus point for attempting more subs.
Equinox takes the fight on points by 8 to 7.
A very excited looking John Equinox made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
