PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Todo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reynolds comes to the cage accompanied by Eminem-You dont know. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Malcolm Reynolds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jack Todo!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Todo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Reynolds keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Todo.
Reynolds will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Malcolm Reynolds. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reynolds moves out of range as Todo strikes.
Reynolds staying out of range there.
Reynolds shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Todo as he jumps to the side.
Todo throws a hook to the side of Reynolds's head but Reynolds sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Todo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Todo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Reynolds takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Reynolds struggling a bit here.

Todo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Todo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Reynolds is looking to regain half guard here but Todo keeps moving and retains side control.

Todo throws a strike aimed at the side of Reynolds's head but Reynolds avoids it well.
Reynolds is looking for a sweep.
Todo tries to move to full mount but Reynolds actually manages to regain half guard.
Reynolds tries to roll over but Todo keeps him under control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Todo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Todo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Reynolds!

Todo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Todo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Reynolds's face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Todo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Todo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Todo looks gassed!
Reynolds really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Reynolds tries to lock up and control but Todo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Todo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Todo working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Reynolds slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.

Reynolds has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Todo. Oh but Reynolds has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Todo goes limp - he's gone! Reynolds jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
