Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Saleem Al Khan and Orlando Perez. Al Khan comes to the cage accompanied by Three Days Grace - Scared. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 2 losses; Saleem Al Khan! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Orlando Perez! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Al Khan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Perez did well to prevent Al Khan getting side control. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Al Khan (2) vs (0) Perez Al Khan is figuring out what he wants to do next. Perez is looking to control Al Khan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Perez avoid being mounted? Al Khan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Perez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Perez is defending against the submission attempts here by Al Khan.
Perez gets full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perez has his foot on Al Khan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Al Khan works his way back into a safe position though. Perez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Al Khan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Al Khan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Al Khan trying to control but Perez is working from the bottom. Al Khan pushes down on Perez's leg and manages to get into half guard. Perez tries to get to full guard but Al Khan has control of the leg. Al Khan is stalling here. Perez is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Al Khan seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Perez has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Al Khan is not content to let Perez control the position. Al Khan is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Perez in particular looking to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Al Khan looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Al Khan is refusing to be controlled, as Perez sits in half guard. Al Khan won't allow Perez to pass to mount. Al Khan moves into full guard.

Perez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Al Khan is just riding it out for now. Perez eventually gives up the hold. Perez is thwarting Al Khan's attempts to control the position. Perez seems to be working for a kimura but Al Khan defends the submission attempt. Perez stalling away here and it's allowed Al Khan to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Perez trying to control but Al Khan is working from the bottom. Al Khan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Al Khan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Al Khan is looking to advance position but Perez has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Al Khan (4) vs (8) Perez Perez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Perez tries to control but Al Khan wriggling away.

Al Khan reaches up and pulls Perez towards him, trying to control the position. Perez manages to get a guillotine from the mount though! This could be big trouble for Al Khan! Al Khan tries to roll over - now Perez is on the bottom but the guillotine is really deep and Al Khan has to tap out! Great work there by Perez!
