Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Iwao Wada and Kron Gracie. Wada kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Stranglehold. Gracie is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Bravery - time won't let me go. Kron Gracie is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Iwao Wada! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 4 losses; Kron Gracie! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wada tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wada to the ground. Wada escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Wada feinted with a counter takedown. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Wada drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Wada (2) vs (0) Gracie We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Wada avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gracie is trying to keep Wada in close.
Wada trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Wada slips nicely into half guard. Gracie looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wada has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Score +3 for passing guard: Wada (5) vs (0) Gracie Wada fails to move to back control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie tries to get back to half guard but can't. Gracie looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Score +3 for taking back: Wada (8) vs (0) Gracie Wada is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Gracie has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Wada has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Gracie taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Wada doesn't care though - he's delighted!
