Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodney Holzken! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 4 - 2, fighting out of New York, Manuel La Bor! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! La Bor misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Holzken.
La Bor throws a head kick but Holzken moves out of range.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from La Bor, right into the meat.
La Bor scores with a jab to the jaw. Holzken looks to score with a jab to the body but La Bor is just out of range. La Bor finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
La Bor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Holzken moves away. Holzken changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Holzken looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. La Bor avoids the body shot from Holzken.
As Holzken backs off La Bor throws a huge counter combo but Holzken manages to avoid it all. Manuel La Bor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice defenses there by Holzken. Holzken lands with a good body shot. The fighters circling - La Bor throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Holzken avoids the body shot from La Bor.
Holzken changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. La Bor misses with a leg kick and Holzken counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. La Bor has one foot on Holzken's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Holzken throws a body punch but La Bor moves out of range. Holzken misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. La Bor will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
La Bor throws a quick inside leg kick. Manuel La Bor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Holzken showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from La Bor.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Holzken swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by La Bor. La Bor throws a right hand that Holzken ducks under and follows up with a left that Holzken also avoids with ease. Holzken takes a swing at La Bor's ribcage but misses. La Bor will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
La Bor throws a body punch but Holzken moves out of range. Holzken attempts a counter takedown but La Bor avoids it well and moves away. La Bor moves out of range of the strikes. Holzken bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. La Bor misses with a body shot.
Nice straight punches there by Holzken. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Holzken. La Bor connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. La Bor misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Holzken.

Holzken throws a jab when La Bor was well out of range. Holzken slips a jab from La Bor. Nice cross by La Bor. Holzken keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
La Bor lands a jab-cross combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Holzken scores with a nice head shot. La Bor uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Holzken.
La Bor takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Holzken throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
La Bor cracks the inside of Holzken's front leg. La Bor lands a nice looking body shot.
La Bor throws a sloppy body shot
and Holzken counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. La Bor told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Holzken passes easily into side control. Nice work. Holzken tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Holzken has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! La Bor is positioning himself to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Manuel La Bor dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
La Bor looks to clinch and Holzken counters with a shoot takedown. La Bor fights it but they end up in guard. Holzken pushing down on La Bor's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Holzken wants to free his trapped foot but La Bor is holding on for dear life with his legs. Holzken is looking for a kimura here.
Holzken uses his free foot to push down on La Bor's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for La Bor. La Bor really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Holzken is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but La Bor is surviving well by controlling Holzken's body position as best he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Holzken has control of La Bor's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and La Bor regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Holzken looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. La Bor regains half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Holzken passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for La Bor! Holzken jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but La Bor manages to avoid the submission attempt. Holzken wants to control but La Bor is keeping him busy. La Bor is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Holzken off and has taken his back! Holzken is in bad spot here.
Holzken is working hard here to advance position. La Bor controlling the position well here. Holzken rolled but La Bor kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Holzken tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Rodney Holzken overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Holzken is working to get back to half guard.

La Bor landing strikes from the mount and Holzken is in trouble! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Holzken slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Holzken wants to improve his position but La Bor is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Holzken tries to roll over but La Bor keeps him under control. La Bor moves into full mount! Holzken won't be happy about that! Holzken manages to regain half guard. Good work. La Bor throwing shots but Holzken is blocking nicely. La Bor decides to stand and escape the position. La Bor scores with a jab to the jaw. La Bor just misses with a punch to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Holzken wants to pass the guard but La Bor is keeping the position. Holzken stopping the sweep attempt from La Bor. Holzken advances position into side control! La Bor tries to bench press Holzken off him but Holzken keeps the position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! La Bor is not content to let Holzken control the position. Holzken passes to full mount! That's big trouble for La Bor! Holzken tries to control but La Bor wriggling away. La Bor is looking to improve his position but Holzken isn't that keen on the idea. La Bor is still trying to improve position. Holzken with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Holzken is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But La Bor has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from La Bor! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Rodney Holzken will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

He's almost out here... but no, Holzken gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Holzken wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by La Bor, who protects the arm well. Holzken is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. La Bor knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. La Bor is trying to improve his position. Holzken tries for a kimura. La Bor defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. La Bor is desperately trying to improve his position but Holzken has a good base and remains in mount. Holzken wants to finish this one by submission but La Bor is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Holzken. La Bor is wriggling around trying to escape.
Holzken tries to control but La Bor wriggling away. Holzken looking to secure an arm triangle but La Bor defends it well. La Bor is looking to get to half guard. Holzken looking to secure an arm triangle but La Bor defends it well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Holzken can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as La Bor is looking to escape.
