Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Octavio Orr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Requis Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Octavio Orr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Requis Black!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Black shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Orr's guard.
Orr wants to stand but Black is controlling the position.
Orr looking to control.
Orr is controlling Black's posture.

Black stands up from Orr's guard - Black perhaps looking for a knockout.
Orr tries to clinch up.
It seemed like Black was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Black pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A combination from Orr does no damage.
Black let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Orr closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Black to the mat! Black manages to get full guard.
Orr is standing up over Black. Black looks to escape but Orr dives into side control.

Orr working away.
Black is trying to improve his position.
Orr is staying tight to Black's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Orr has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Black is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Orr working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Orr just content to control the position.
A bit of a lull in the action here.
Black trying to remain calm as Orr controls from the top position.
Orr gets to mount! Black was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Black tries to hold on but Orr pushes him away.
Black is wriggling around trying to escape.
Black wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Orr trying to control but Black is having none of it.
We've been informed that Black has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Orr throwing strikes here but Black is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Black sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Black is positioning himself well to prevent Orr advancing to mount.
Black wants to improve his position but Orr is controlling well.
Black trying to control but Orr postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Orr wants to take a breather but Black is having none of it.

Orr wants to work for an arm triangle but Black is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Black wants to control but Orr is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Black is refusing to be controlled, as Orr sits in half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Orr wants to clinch

and Black decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Orr's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Octavio Orr will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Orr looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Black moves into range and clinches up with Orr.
Orr has Black pushed against the cage.

Black decides to pull guard.

Orr gets to his feet - Black follows without any prompting.

Black shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Black in particular looking to stall.
Black slips a nice elbow through Orr's hands, connecting with Orr's forehead.
Requis Black has got the better of the ground game so far.

Black seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Orr does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Orr has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Black is working away from the top position though.
Orr is refusing to be controlled, as Black sits in half guard.

Black is looking for a kimura but Orr is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Black to get the leverage.
Orr is staying active underneath Black, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Black is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Orr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Orr loads up on a big right hand but Black slips the punch.
Black steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Octavio Orr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Orr tries to clinch but Black is having none of it.
No joy there for Black, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Black would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Orr is on top in guard.


Orr got a little sloppy there for a moment and Black has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Orr has managed to get both his arms back between Black's legs - danger averted.
Orr seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Requis Black showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Orr wants to clinch.
Black raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Black closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Black is looking to take a break and control but Orr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Black is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Orr throws Black to one side and escapes!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Black.
Orr is letting Black control him for a moment.
Orr is trying to control Black's posture but Black avoids it.

Black is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Orr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Black takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Orr is looking to regain half guard here but Black keeps moving and retains side control.

You can see the frustration on Orr's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Orr manages to work his way to half guard, despite Black's best efforts.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Black in particular looking to stall.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Black drops an elbow to the side of Orr's head.
Black is looking to pass Orr's guard but actually Orr recovers to full guard.

Black must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Orr is trying to keep Black in close.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Orr feints and as Black raises his hands in defense, Orr changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Octavio Orr.
I think Orr has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
