Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bart Paw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Broa Ling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bart Paw could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Broa Ling's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 15 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bart Paw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Broa Ling!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paw misses with a head kick.
And Ling responds with a good body kick, but Paw manages to step out the way in time.
Ling moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Ling shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Ling really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Paw is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ling working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ling wants to lay and pray for a moment but Paw keeps working.

Paw is doing well to control the position and prevent Ling from advancing to side control.
Ling is keen to just control but Paw is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Paw on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Paw tries to get out of the position.

Ling is looking for a kimura but Paw is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ling to get the leverage.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Paw is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ling scores with a couple of nice shots.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Paw is refusing to be controlled, as Ling sits in half guard.

Paw kicks off Ling and gets to his feet.
Paw really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ling darts in and clinches Paw up against the cage.

Ling tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Paw smiles and moves away.

Paw tries to stall but Ling uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Paw pulls guard effortlessly.
Ling won't allow Paw to sweep him here.
Paw is pulling down on Ling's head. It's preventing any offense from Ling, at least for the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Paw is on top in guard.

Ling has momentary wrist control but Paw slips an elbow through the middle.
Paw controls from within his opponent's guard.

Paw working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paw is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ling is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Paw is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Broa Ling will probably get the nod.
That's time! Paw's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ling shoots in looking for a takedown. Paw tries to sprawl out of it but Ling keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Paw manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
It looked like Paw was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Ling shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Paw sprawls well. Paw wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ling gets slowly back to his feet.
Paw went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Paw tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ling stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Paw.
Paw throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Ling moves into the clinch successfully.
Paw tries to land knees in the clinch but Ling avoids the damage to the body.
Ling tries to pull guard but Paw won't allow it.
Bart Paw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Broa Ling.

Ling turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ling manages to end up in side control.
Paw wants to control but Ling postures up.
Ling scoring with punches and elbows.
Paw tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ling wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Paw is working hard here to advance position.

Paw is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ling connects with a decent elbow.

Paw is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ling pulls his head out easily.
Ling blocks the strikes from Paw.

Ling lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Paw makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Paw.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Paw is on top in guard.

Paw wants to stand but Ling has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Paw wants to pass the guard but Ling is keeping the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Paw trying to control but Ling is working from the bottom.

Paw decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ling throws a head kick but Paw moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Paw is defended easily by Ling.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Paw has a takedown stuffed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bart Paw will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Ling closes the distance and clinches up with Paw, looking for a takedown. Ling pushes Paw against the cage but Paw circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ling pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Paw back to the cage. Ling follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Paw shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Paw showed some decent athleticism there.
Ling looks like he's trying to stand up.

Paw closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ling did well to prevent Paw getting side control.

Ling manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Paw keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Paw breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Bart Paw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Broa Ling.

Paw goes for a double leg but Ling avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ling continues to drive forward.

The referee is taking a good look at Ling as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Paw!
Ling is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Paw working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Paw keeps control of the position easily here as Ling tries to buck him off.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bart Paw.
I think Paw has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
