Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sasha Novavich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julius Kaiser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaiser has chosen Emperor - I am the Black Wizards as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sasha Novavich!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Julius Kaiser!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Novavich swats away the attempt to clinch by Kaiser.
Kaiser misses with a wild combination.
Novavich will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kaiser is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Novavich.

Kaiser closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kaiser tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Novavich has clasped his hands together around Kaiser's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Kaiser parries the strikes from Novavich easily there. Novavich is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kaiser to escape.
Novavich postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kaiser should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Novavich wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kaiser, who protects the arm well.
Kaiser controls the position for a moment.
Kaiser manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Novavich passes to full mount!

Novavich working for a submission but Kaiser is keeping him at bay.
Novavich wants to control but instead Kaiser manages to regain half guard.
Novavich perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kaiser has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Novavich is working away from the top position though.
Novavich thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kaiser's head.
Novavich throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Novavich not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Novavich is looking for a kimura but Kaiser is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Novavich to get the leverage.

Kaiser kicks off Novavich and gets to his feet.

Novavich shoots in and bounces Kaiser off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Novavich decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Novavich tries to clinch but Kaiser moves out of range.
Novavich closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kaiser circles away.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Novavich lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kaiser has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kaiser and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Novavich has managed to clinch.

Kaiser wants to stand but Novavich has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Kaiser advances position into side control!

Novavich is trying to improve his position.
Novavich is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kaiser's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sasha Novavich dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Kaiser tries to clinch up but Novavich circles away and keeps his distance.

Novavich keeps control of Kaiser as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kaiser is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Novavich lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Novavich is just content to waste time from the top position. Kaiser takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Novavich controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Kaiser is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Novavich stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kaiser swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Novavich postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kaiser keeping moving, preventing Novavich from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Novavich pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kaiser is keeping the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kaiser pushes Novavich away with a front kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kaiser pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kaiser, right into the meat.
Julius Kaiser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kaiser moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Kaiser pushes Novavich away with a front kick.
Kaiser scores with a one two! Novavich had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Kaiser stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sasha Novavich. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kaiser lands with a kick to the temple. Novavich shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Kaiser is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Novavich is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Kaiser avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Novavich has gone for a leg lock! Kaiser slips out almost immediately though and dives into Novavich's guard.
Kaiser is stalling in the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Novavich trying to keep a closed guard but Kaiser is proving a slippery customer.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kaiser trying to control the position from guard on top but Novavich is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Novavich looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kaiser is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Julius Kaiser showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


It's a brutal combination of punches from Kaiser! Novavich is backing up but he can't get away as Kaiser lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Novavich and ends the fight. Great knockout.
