Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between King Mejia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, King Mejia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricardo Gonzales! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mejia scores with a body shot.
Gonzales closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mejia to the mat! Mejia manages to get full guard. Mejia has Gonzales pulled in close to control his posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gonzales postures up.
Gonzales wants to control from the top but Mejia keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mejia keeping full guard, as Gonzales tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzales looking to sit in guard and control but Mejia gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mejia not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Gonzales wants to stand up but Mejia is controlling him. Mejia controlling from the top position. Mejia's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gonzales doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Gonzales fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Gonzales dives in for a single leg takedown but Mejia sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gonzales misses with a takedown attempt - Mejia sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mejia appears to be looking for a big counter. King Mejia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Gonzales. Gonzales throws a nice looking combination but Mejia bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Gonzales throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mejia tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gonzales is in Mejia's guard. Gonzales with a flurry of punches that miss. Mejia is pulling down on Gonzales's head to control his posture. Gonzales won't allow Mejia to sweep him here. Gonzales looking to sit in guard and control but Mejia gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mejia is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gonzales can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gonzales looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mejia puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gonzales wants to improve his position but Mejia is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mejia looks to score some points with some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that King Mejia will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

He's got hold of a leg but Gonzales swivels and escapes.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzales is not content to let Mejia control the position. Gonzales is trying to control Mejia's posture but Mejia avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mejia gets to mount! Gonzales was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Mejia is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Mejia blocks a head kick by Gonzales.

Mejia has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gonzales uses from the top position. Gonzales wants to stand and escape but instead Mejia has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Gonzales is concentrating on defense, preventing Mejia from advancing position. Gonzales wants to control but Mejia is keeping busy and won't allow it. Gonzales manages to get to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gonzales looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mejia puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Still in half guard, Mejia seems content to control. Mejia is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gonzales can do to turn this around? Gonzales wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Gonzales takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

It looked like Mejia wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Gonzales tries for a takedown but Mejia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mejia tries to counter with a takedown but Gonzales is quick to defend against it. King Mejia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Gonzales. Gonzales fails with the takedown and Mejia counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Mejia looking to score a takedown here. Gonzales is defending well but Mejia drives through and ends up in Gonzales's guard. God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gonzales pushes Mejia off and gets back to his feet. Ricardo Gonzales has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! King Mejia is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gonzales throws a combination that misses and Mejia counters with a nice uppercut.
And that's the end of the fight! King Mejia showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mejia, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
