Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Denis Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robinson Ahmad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robinson Ahmad !
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carpenter circles away from the clinch attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ahmad .
Ahmad shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
It looked like Carpenter was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Carpenter closes the distance and pushes Ahmad back into the cage.
Carpenter misses with a hook to the ribs.
Ahmad drops down looking for an ankle pick but Carpenter pulls his leg out and moves away.
Denis Carpenter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robinson Ahmad .
Ahmad throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ahmad fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carpenter avoids it really well and circles away.

Ahmad shoots in looking for a takedown but Carpenter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ahmad 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Ahmad throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Ahmad tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Carpenter defends well and Ahmad ends up having to push Carpenter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Ahmad throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Carpenter tries to counter by clinching up but Ahmad breaks away and moves out of range.

Ahmad fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Carpenter wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Ahmad tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Carpenter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Carpenter is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Ahmad .

Carpenter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ahmad is stalling in the full guard.
It looks like Ahmad might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Ahmad is working Carpenter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Carpenter controls Ahmad momentarily but Ahmad frees himself.

Carpenter is looking for a counter combo.
Carpenter tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ahmad swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Ahmad fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Carpenter to the ground. Ahmad is now in Carpenter's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ahmad won't allow Carpenter to sweep him here.
Ahmad seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Ahmad would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Ahmad is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Ahmad has eaten all the pies!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ahmad throws a strike but Carpenter rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Carpenter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ahmad on the ground.
Ahmad throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Ahmad has his foot on Carpenter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carpenter works his way back into a safe position though.

Carpenter is looking to work some ground and pound but Ahmad has wrist control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carpenter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ahmad working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carpenter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carpenter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
