Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaggy Duck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaggy Duck has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shaggy Duck!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Winston Howard and Ben Hemmingworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Duck with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Cruz doesn't manage to clinch there - Duck circles away.
Cruz has his takedown stuffed
and Duck counters with a straight right hand.
Cruz closes the distance and clinches up with Duck, looking for a takedown. Cruz pushes Duck against the cage but Duck circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Duck clinches up with Cruz and pushes him back against the cage.
Cruz fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Cruz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cruz pulls Duck into guard.
Duck controlling from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Duck forces his way into half guard.
Duck trying to control the action but Cruz is working from the bottom.
Duck is pressing down on Cruz's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cruz is holding on for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Still in half guard, Duck seems content to control.
Cruz avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Duck.
Cruz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Duck's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Duck's back!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cruz thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Duck defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Cruz doesn't have the hooks in and Duck manages to turn into his guard.

Duck told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Duck postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Duck is looking to work some ground and pound but Cruz has wrist control.
Duck slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Cruz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Duck lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Cruz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Duck is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duck's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Duck pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cruz is keeping the position for now.
Duck in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Duck is looking to work some ground and pound but Cruz has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shaggy Duck dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Cruz tries to clinch but Duck is having none of it.
Duck steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Cruz is out on his feet! Duck sets himself and nearly takes Cruz's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
