The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manlet slaps away a takedown attempt from News, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Manlet feinted with a counter takedown.
News tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Manlet manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
News gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Manlet counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
News wants to get back to full guard.
Well, if Manlet is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
News is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
News closes the distance and clinches up with Manlet, looking for a takedown. News pushes Manlet against the cage but Manlet circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
News darts in trying to clinch

and Manlet decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in News's guard.
News is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Manlet dives into side control.

Manlet gets to mount! News was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Manlet tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Manlet's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Manlet seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down News for as long as he can get away with.

Groundbreaking News comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Manlet has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
