Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Peon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alvin Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Peon has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Peon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alvin Garcia! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Garcia is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Peon has control of Garcia's left arm, preventing Garcia from doing any damage. Garcia is looking to stand up but Peon won't let him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Garcia is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Garcia would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peon seems keen to control Garcia's posture. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Garcia feints and as Peon raises his hands in defense, Garcia changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peon has his hands on Garcia's head, controlling the position. Garcia wants to stand but Peon has a closed guard, so he can't escape. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Peon holds on and takes a little breather. Peon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Peon is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peon is really struggling to control Garcia but he's trying to hold on to the position. Peon has Garcia pulled in close to control his posture. Garcia should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Garcia looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Garcia shoots in but no luck this time. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Garcia is defended easily by Peon. Peon tries to counter with a takedown but Garcia is quick to defend against it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Garcia shoots in looking for a takedown but Peon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Garcia's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Peon changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Paul Peon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alvin Garcia. Garcia dives in and grabs Peon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Peon pushes down on Garcia's head and hops out. Peon half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Garcia tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Peon defends well and Garcia ends up having to push Peon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Peon appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Garcia shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Garcia is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Garcia shoots in and gets a takedown into Peon's guard. Garcia seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Garcia sitting in guard here, content to control. Garcia has been the more effective fighter overall so far. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Garcia darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Peon trying to control from the bottom.

Alvin Garcia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Peon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Alvin Garcia has got the better of the ground game so far.
