Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Chace! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Marquardt! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marquardt is looking to clinch but Chace is avoiding it.
A shot to de liver by Chace. Beautiful body shot. Some bone on bone action there as Marquardt checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Marquardt tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chace swats him away and circles back towards the center. Marquardt is looking to clinch. Marquardt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chace paws at him with a jab and circles away. Chace lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Marquardt sprawling to the canvas. Chace follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Marquardt hang on?
Marquardt is rocked!
It looks like Mark Marquardt has been cut. Marquardt looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chace controlling the action here. Marquardt is still in real trouble! Can Chace finish him? Chace frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chace controlling the position easily from mount. Marquardt seems to have recovered his senses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Marquardt is squirming around, avoiding Chace's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chace sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chace's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Chace trying to control but Marquardt is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Chace dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mark Marquardt's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Marquardt shoots in for a double leg but Chace sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Johnny Chace is winning the standup battle so far. Marquardt keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Chace. Marquardt tries to clinch but Chace is having none of it. Marquardt doesn't manage to clinch there - Chace circles away.
Chace throws an overhand right that has Marquardt reeling! Chace follows up with more punches and Marquardt is out cold! This one is all over!
