The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staley lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Staley throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Ford rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Staley moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Staley scores with a leg kick.
Ford scores with a shot to the body.
Ford avoids the body shot from Staley.
Ford scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Layne Staley has been cut.

Staley misses with a hook from the clinch.

Staley tries to throw a body punch but Ford avoids it by throwing Staley back against the cage.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Staley.
Staley has Ford pressed against the cage, preventing Ford from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Staley tries to work over Ford's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Ford tries to break free but Staley pushes him back against the cage.
Staley can't find room to land a body shot as Ford controls the action.
Staley prevents a takedown attempt there.

Ford is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Staley gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ford pulls Staley into guard.
Ford manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Ford has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Staley.
Layne Staley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A chopping leg kick lands by Staley.
Ford rushes Staley and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Staley trying to control the position but instead, Ford has worked for underhooks and has pushed Staley into the cage.
Ford using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Staley has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Ford pulls Staley into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ford is on top in guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Staley tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Henry Ford will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Layne Staley's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Staley fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ford has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Ford blocks a low kick nicely.
Ford shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Staley but Staley pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Staley enables Ford to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Staley manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ford is standing up over Staley. Staley looks to escape but Ford dives into side control.
Staley is trying to escape the position but Ford is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Ford has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Henry Ford has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ford has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Staley's body.

Ford is riding his opponent, not letting Staley buck him off.
Staley is trying to stand back up.
