Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dog Alpha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toby Chapelle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Dog Alpha has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dog Alpha seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dog Alpha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Toby Chapelle! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alpha swats away the attempt to clinch by Chapelle. Alpha looks for a takedown but Chapelle sprawls well. A combination from Chapelle does no damage. Chapelle throws a combination. Alpha tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Dog Alpha has been cut. Chapelle stuffs the takedown. Alpha blocks a head kick by Chapelle.
Alpha feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Alpha wants to control from the top but Chapelle keeps moving. Alpha might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Chapelle keeping full guard, as Alpha tries to pass. Chapelle trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alpha sitting in guard here, content to control. Chapelle keeping moving, preventing Alpha from controlling successfully. Alpha slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Alpha advances to mount. Alpha is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Chapelle has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Alpha looking to control but Chapelle is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Chapelle is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alpha looking to finish with strikes here!
Alpha unloading with bombs! Alpha looking to control but Chapelle is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Alpha takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Alpha is in the full mount, landing strikes. Alpha content just to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alpha landing strikes, looking to finish! Alpha working Chapelle over with strikes here. Alpha can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chapelle is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dog Alpha dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dog Alpha's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
The fight stays on the outside here - Chapelle looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Chapelle fails in his attempt to clinch. Chapelle is looking to clinch but Alpha is avoiding it.
Chapelle looks to land a combination but Alpha avoids it well. Toby Chapelle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chapelle moves in looking to clinch but Alpha pushes him off. Some wild striking there from Chapelle.
Alpha darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Alpha looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chapelle can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alpha trying to control the action but Chapelle is working from the bottom. Alpha is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Alpha trying to control from Chapelle's half guard. Chapelle has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Alpha is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Dog Alpha just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Chapelle. Nice takedown defense from Chapelle. No joy for Alpha on that attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alpha. Alpha looks for a takedown but Chapelle sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dog Alpha. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice cross by Chapelle. Alpha shoots in but no luck this time. Chapelle wants to clinch up but Alpha keeps it at a distance. Alpha tries to score with a low kick but Chapelle moves his leg out of the way. Alpha takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Chapelle misses with a head kick.
Chapelle tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alpha swats him away and circles back towards the center. Chapelle doesn't manage to clinch there - Alpha circles away.
Alpha throws a nice inside leg kick. Alpha keeps the fight on the outside. No luck for Chapelle with that takedown attempt. Chapelle tries to close the distance and clinch but Alpha swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alpha looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Chapelle keeping moving, preventing Alpha from controlling successfully. Alpha thows a big elbow that misses. Chapelle preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dog Alpha dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Dog Alpha's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
The fight moves into the clinch position. Alpha pulls guard. Alpha had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chapelle is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Alpha Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chapelle's back instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chapelle rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Alpha stalling away here and it's allowed Chapelle to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Alpha trying to control but Chapelle is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alpha advances position into side control! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Alpha tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Alpha is looking to take a break and control but Chapelle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Chapelle is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Alpha asserts his dominance and retains side control. Dog Alpha is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Alpha is looking to take a break and control but Chapelle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Chapelle tries to escape but Alpha is in control. Alpha working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chapelle is not content to let Alpha control the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Alpha throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chapelle's waist but Chapelle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alpha off to one side. Chapelle misses with a head kick.
Chapelle is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Alpha dodges the punch combination from Chapelle.
Toby Chapelle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Chapelle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Alpha.
Chapelle connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Alpha with a poor takedown and Chapelle counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Alpha has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Chapelle avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dog Alpha. That's going to take a lot out of him. A short right hand to the side of the head by Chapelle. Chapelle is trying to break the clinch but Alpha has him pressed against the cage. Alpha is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Chapelle gets through Alpha's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Alpha manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Alpha trying to control the position here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Chapelle wanted to stand there but Alpha had control of the position.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Toby Chapelle. I think Alpha has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
