Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juancho Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Musial Stanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 34 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juancho Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Musial Stanson!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stanson clinches up with Rivera and pushes him back against the cage.
Stanson lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Rivera or not.
Stanson works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Rivera working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Rivera swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Stanson tries for a takedown but Rivera manages to get underhooks.
Rivera can't find room to land a body shot as Stanson controls the action.
Rivera lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Stanson.
Stanson tries to pull guard but Rivera won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stanson jumps guard and drags Rivera to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Stanson holds on and takes a little breather.

Rivera wants to pass the guard but Stanson is keeping the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Stanson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Rivera swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Rivera tries to keep at a distance but Stanson has taken the fight into the clinch.

Stanson clinches.
Rivera misses with some punches.
Stanson jumps guard but Rivera stands there with Stanson around his waist. Stanson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Juancho Rivera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Musial Stanson.

Stanson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Stanson throws an elbow but Rivera slips to the side and avoids it well.

Stanson is trying to get an arm triangle but Rivera is defending well.
Rivera bucks up and tries to throw Stanson off but instead Stanson has got his back!
Stanson keeps control of the position easily here as Rivera tries to buck him off.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Stanson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Rivera has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Stanson passes Rivera's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Stanson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rivera sees it coming and defends easily.
Rivera is looking to escape.

Stanson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Stanson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Stanson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Stanson wants to control the pace but Rivera is squirming around nicely.

Stanson throwing strikes but Rivera bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.
Rivera wants to stand but Stanson is controlling his posture from full guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Rivera has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Stanson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Rivera is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Stanson pulls down on the head and he's put Rivera to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Musial Stanson!
