Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Demarcus Armstrong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kid Nakamura! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakamura looks to land a body kick but Armstrong moved away. Donk. Nakamura catches Armstrong right on the button with a cross. Nakamura shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Nakamura tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Nakamura stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Armstrong is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Nakamura. Nakamura drives through with a takedown into Armstrong's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Armstrong is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Nakamura won't allow Armstrong to get back to his feet.

Nakamura ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Armstrong moves away. A combination from Nakamura does no damage. Nakamura fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Armstrong sprawls well initially but Nakamura persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Nakamura not landing any meaningful shots this time. Nakamura is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Nakamura takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Nakamura is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Armstrong is looking for a sweep. Nakamura is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Nakamura drops an elbow to the side of Armstrong's head. Nakamura wants to pass to mount but Armstrong is defending the position. Nakamura stands up and beckons Armstrong to join him on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Armstrong gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Nakamura would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Armstrong keeping moving, preventing Nakamura from controlling successfully. Armstrong controls Nakamura momentarily but Nakamura frees himself. Armstrong is working an open guard so Nakamura takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nakamura pushes Armstrong up against the cage in a clinch. Armstrong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kid Nakamura dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nakamura shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Nakamura fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nakamura has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nakamura lands a jab to Armstrong's midsection. Armstrong avoids the body shot from Nakamura.

Nakamura throws an overhand right that lands on Armstrong's shoulder, as Armstrong tries to avoid the shot. Armstrong is looking to counter the offense by Nakamura and move into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nakamura throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Armstrong on the side of the head. Nakamura shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nakamura showed some decent athleticism there. Armstrong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Armstrong looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakamura controlling the pace. Armstrong pushes Nakamura off looking to stand but Nakamura dives back in and keeps control.
Nakamura takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Armstrong has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nakamura is working away from the top position though. Nakamura is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kid Nakamura has got the better of the ground game so far. Nakamura is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Armstrong has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Armstrong wants to control but Nakamura is keeping busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Armstrong gets back to full guard.
Nakamura throws a big right hand that misses. Nakamura gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nakamura wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Nakamura connects with a body shot. A punch combination from Nakamura misses. Armstrong seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Nakamura lands a nice looking body shot.
Armstrong tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nakamura sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Armstrong somewhat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nakamura gets a takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Armstrong is not content to let Nakamura control the position. Armstrong looks like he's trying to stand up.

Kid Nakamura showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Armstrong leaves Nakamura with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Armstrong wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Demarcus Armstrong is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sloppy strikes from Armstrong. Those never looked like landing. Nakamura will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Armstrong is looking to counter the offense by Nakamura and move into the clinch. Nakamura shoots in for a double leg but Armstrong sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakamura clinches up with Armstrong and pushes him back against the cage. Nakamura wants to break free but Armstrong has control.
Nakamura has clasped his hands together around Armstrong's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Nakamura decides to stand back up. Nakamura pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Armstrong back to the cage. Nakamura follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Nakamura takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Nakamura closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nakamura is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Armstrong! Armstrong tries to lock up and control but Nakamura gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Nakamura cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Armstrong wants to control but Nakamura is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nakamura trying to control but he's not successful this time. Nakamura avoids the attempt from Armstrong to control. Nakamura can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Armstrong is looking to escape. Armstrong keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nakamura working for a submission but Armstrong is keeping him at bay. Nakamura is landing with some decent strikes but Armstrong is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Nakamura with a couple of short strikes. Armstrong tries to hold on but Nakamura postures up. Armstrong keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Armstrong is trying to stand up. Nakamura tries to control but Armstrong wriggling away. Kid Nakamura is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nakamura working Armstrong over with strikes here. Nakamura tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Nakamura with the ground and pound from mount. Armstrong is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Nakamura stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Kid Nakamura comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Nakamura has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
